Biography

Turning away from the Imperial, you had almost missed the tiny Nocturne sitting nearby, tilting its head as some ants crawled by. Upon seeing your momentary confusion, Eomer gave a chuckle and began to explain, "That there is Emilio. I'm not really sure where he came from, but he's taken a pretty big liking to me. Look, he's even as interested in bugs as I am!" The Nocturne looked up from his studies and gave a chirp of sorts, seeming pretty happy to hear his name mentioned.

A curious baby Nocturne who's constantly exploring or observing the world around him. Though he knows how to talk, he doesn't usually do so and instead communicates through a series of chirps, purrs, and trills. He's rather absent-minded, and it usually takes him a moment or two to register he's being spoken to. Emilio did live in the Viridian Labyrinth when he was first hatched, but got lost after wandering around in search of his parents. In a panic, he managed to get lost in the woods and decided to follow an Imperial he found, assuming it was his father in his frenzy. Fortunately, after they got back to the ascent, Eomer decided to take in the little guy as his own child/entomology buddy.

(April Fools addition) Emilio has realized at this point that he's not just a child and that maybe there's something a little bit strange going on with him, but as not just his body but his mind as well are stuck in this youthful state he's not particularly fazed by the fact. Sure, he won't ever get to have hatchlings of his own or be able to leave the territory alone, but that just means that he gets to stay at home with his friends and family forever!

"Hey kid," The young Nocturne turned at a voice behind him, meeting the eyes of Diablo and Cuarzo, two of their army members or so they said. Giving a curious chirp, Emilio clambered up to the two, looking up at them expectantly.

"Since you seem so interested in us when we're training, we convinced Joya to let you come along with us!" Cuarzo finished the sentence for Diablo, as he saw how reluctant the other Nocturne was to say anything. With that he hastily added on, "And don't take it personally if Diablo decides to be a jerk, he just gets that way around Nature dragons,"

"Hey, don't pretend you don't know what happened over in the Wastelands recently!" Diablo growled, before taking a leap and soaring off. With a shrug, Cuarzo followed after, and Emilio scrambled after the two before clumsily getting himself into the air and trying his best to keep up.
...

Emilio watched his surroundings in both awe and terror. He could hear the screams of what he thought were Ragepuffs all around him, and the air was alive with feathers and the occasional bird soaring around. The sky was bright and sunny, with only the occasional cloud drifting by to give them a break at all. They were up on the edge of a rocky cliff, and while there was plenty of room around them to run if something tried to attack them, there was also plenty of space for dangers to gang up on them. And to make matters worse, if he glanced over the edge there was no land in sight meaning if any of them were injured or he were knocked over, they certainly wouldn't be able to make it back up alive. He swallowed nervously, and glanced up at the two soldiers for reassurance. Oh, how he wished his familiar had come with him!

Meanwhile, Diablo was already twitching with anticipation, his visible fangs glistening in the bright sunlight. "Here we are, kid! Harpy's Roost!" He spoke with a higher tone than usual, and Emilio could tell he was already excited for whatever was coming next. But even with how young he was Emilio knew that the older Nocturne and him didn't quite share the same idea of fun. He gave a nervous trill before tilting his head and listening to them explain further. "There are lots of Beastclans here, hence the name Harpy's Roost, but you don't need to worry about that. Cuarzo and I have been here plenty enough times to know how to deal with them. You just watch and learn..."

Cuarzo visibly flicked his ear, and the two soldiers wheeled around as a couple Hippogriffs landed. Letting out a soft chuckle, Diablo darted forwards at the bright red one and slashed at it with both hands. As he fell back, Cuarzo pretty much leapt over him, landing on top of it and getting in as many strikes as he could before the creature shook him off. Emilio continued to watch in awe as they took out the three Hippogriffs in no time flat, and while they were panting they appeared none the worse for wear. Emilio scrambled up between the two, grinning madly. While he wanted to call out about how awesome he thought their performance was, he found himself struggling to find the proper words out of excitement.

Fortunately, Diablo could catch on to the general point he wanted to make and gave an over confident smirk in response. "You like the way we looked out there? Well, wait until you see us against something that isn't afraid to hit us!" He shot another grin over at the young Nocturne, but quickly grew serious again as some more wing flaps were heard behind them.

"Stop showing off Diablo, and get over here and help!"
