Swylia was an adopted infant, raised within the Wind based clan of Rainbow Embers by the clan. Gracious and soft-spoken, she is constantly observing those around her and unable to fully express her feelings.

Her love for her hat has become a small affair with an amusing Mirror named Barret, to whom she has gifted a matching handkerchief as a sign of their budding relationship. While he was here, her feelings for him have grown but her self-esteem kept her emotions silent. It was when Barret professed he was moving on that Swylia asked to follow. The two now travel together.

Arriving to the dark clan of Mystic she along with Barrett, She was greeted by Gamzee and Cleopatra. Both find the pair of travelers odd and rather them gone but Nymph wanted to keep them here for awhile.
