Ammit,
the Condemner

Born as a tundra, Ammit faced great amounts of prejudice from many in her clan. She desired a way out, and made a deal with Anat, to be transformed. Anat, as an extra surprise, also cursed Ammit.

A pearlcatcher's pearl is a representation of its soul. In Ammit's case, her soul truly is locked away in her pearl. Her electricity, and contact with her pearl, are the only things keeping her alive. If she looses either she will weaken and die. A source of her sustenance is the captured life force of other dragons.

Dragons exalted from the clan,
pay Earthshaker homage
to the pillar of the world,
this is their pilgrimage,

As a storm brews above the land
where lightning does scrimmage
a dragon’s journey unfurl’d
in the same vicinage

the lightning strikes are close at hand,
hiding from the damage
under rocks, sits a dragon curl’d
cow’ring from her visage

t’was not what the exalt planned
to become her prisage
in his mind, desp’rate thoughts did swirl
so dangerous, is this pilgrimage

The exalt wept tears of the damned
ne’er to see his village
he’d be sent to the underworld
heart heavier than plumage

as Ammit left embers, char, and
relishing her pillage
the exalt’s dust, the wind did twirl
is destined to join the tillage
