Biography

aX8qPkp.png KHONSU stood at the edge of the vast savannah feeling the currents of electricity dance through his mane with the shifting winds. When he was young, he had been frightened by the sensation - not yet understanding. But, in his quest for knowledge, he had become a master in many disciplines. As he stared out across the expanse, the last sliver of light slipped into the horizon. He felt the presence arrive at his side without turning to see.

“Greetings, Elder One,” he said, slightly lowering his gaze in respect. They stood together in silence for a time as the golden tones faded and the stars grew more visible in the troubled skies. When the elder finally spoke, her aged voice had a somber tone. “The time has come for you to leave us.” Khonsu glanced over in surprise before remembering himself and quickly looking away. “You have been a dedicated student,” she continued, “and your expertise is unsurpassed. However, you are destined to be a traveller." She paused as lightning flashed and waited patiently as the thunder rolled itself into a low rumble. "Wandering the land will allow you to pick up even greater knowledge, perhaps leaving some of your own in return.”

As her words washed over him, he felt their truth. He had recognized that he was reaching the limit of what he could learn here. The moon briefly shown between the passing clouds, and it was as if Khonsu could feel the passing of time. He had indeed been growing restless. The time had come for him to move on.

He turned to the elder and met her eyes as an equal for the first (and possibly last) time.

"As-salmu alaykum.
Peace upon you.”

"Wa-alaikum-salam.
And upon you peace."
