______ The shadows swirled, hiding the secrets within the woods. The darkness was the perfect veil to hide the clans darkest secret. The mist swirled past an empty clearing, hiding it from view before drifting away to reveal a dragon. Its wings were spread, covering the entire length of the clearing, leaving a dark shadow on the ground. Webs were draped over the wings, tattered and dark, almost blending in with the wings. It’s face was hidden under a dark cloak, a raven mask covering what little you could see. A cloak of feathers and brambles covered its body and arms, while black cloth was wrapped around its legs. Dark armour covered its tail, which slowly flicked back and forth as the dragon continued to rise to its full height.

______ It cast a shadow over the entire clearing. Around it, even the swirling mist seemed to stop, afraid to move around this dragon of darkness. A small flutter of movement in the bushes echoed through the silence. The dragon slowly looks in the direction of the bush, its cloak swishing along the ground. A rabbit burst from the bush only to be stopped in its tracks as a claw was buried into it. A small piece of paper was attached to the rabbit. The dragon reaches out and unwraps the paper, reading it before turning abruptly eating the rabbit. The dragon looks up before shadows swirl past the clearing once again, revealing an empty clearing once past.

______ In the empty clearing, a piece of paper was laying on the ground. The silence that had fallen over the clearing was once again broken, but this time by the sound of wingbeats. A small fae drops down from a nearby tree, looking into the shadows. Only swirling shadows could be seen. He sighs and folds his wings. Behind him a dark guardian steps out of the shadows, looking at the small fae.
“ Do you really think it’s a good idea? What happens when the rest of the lair finds out about her?” The fae says, frowning. The guardian sits next to him and gently reaches her wing out to him.
“ I don’t know, but we can only hope for the best.” She says, looking into the shadows.
“ Our dark secret.” He says, flying up to land on top of the guardians head.
“ Our dark secret.” The guardian says, nodding.

______ The shadows felt cool on her feathers. She patiently stood where she was, watching the dragons in front of her. She could sense their fear and she grinned. Slowly the shadows around her swirled away. She remained still and hidden. In front of her the dragons stopped and huddled in a small group, sensing a presence.
“ Whos there-e-e?” A golden pearlcatcher whimpers. Darkfall watches the group with a twisted smile on her face. Slowly a dark red guardian male steps forward.
“ Show yourself coward!” He says, staring definitely into the shadows.
“ It seems like you are the ones scared…” She whispers, her voice echoing through the dark woods. She steps forward slightly, making sure to remain hidden.

______ A glint caught their attention, giving Darkfall all the time she needed. With a quiet laugh she darted into the clearing, quickly dealing with the golden pearlcatcher, the traitor, before disappearing into the shadows again, leaving the small group to find their companion. She was just toying with them. She turns around and looks back at the small group. Only the guardian and a small spiral remained. They looked down at their fallen companion, red slowly staining her scales and the ground around her. Darkfall watches as they stand there, unable to do anything before the spiral panics and runs into the forest. Darkfall grins.
“ Running are we… I do like a good chase once in a while but you really don't seem that hard to catch…” She says, frowning before quickly dealing with the guardian and running through the woods after the fleeing spiral.

______ The clearing fell silent, nothing moving. The ground had turned red with blood and from the woods, a scroll rolled into the clearing, unraveling itself. Written on it was a message for the assassin Darkfall,

Through the woods comes three colours of red, gold and silver
Three different elements and three unique breeds
All of traitors to the shadows
Before midnight, the ground shall be stained in the red colour of their blood
The last thing they will know is the face of shadow

and through the woods comes a final shriek.
