Loves building lasers and ray guns (not 'death rays' but simply rays that may potentially cause some form of death), though the parts he needs are hard to get a hold of where he lives. He imports a lot of tools, components and gadgets from the Shifting Expanse, and sometimes takes trips there.

One particular shipment of laser parts contained a big surprise in the form of an incredibly confused and frightened young mirror. At first Quickbeam would need reminding that just because Scatterplot arrived as part of his order, it did not mean he belonged to him - though since becoming mates, this has become somewhat of an inside joke between them.

Quickbeam and Scatterplot are the primary caretakers of Beep. Also its dads.
