A grouchy but fiery old Guardian who guards the farmlands and also grows and gathers herbs, Freyja is as much a skilled fighter as she is a herbalist and has a hot temper that matches even Anise.

Her partner of many years Magdala is a construct dragon whom she met a long time ago when she was still a young adult, a thief scraping to survive in the Shifting Expanse. Before she was even hatched, her egg had been stolen away by a group of travelling theives from her birth region. However when she hatched unexpectedly, the band of theiving dragons decided to raise her as their own, and taught her their ways.

As such, Freyja grew to be a skilled thief despite her large size. Eventually her small clan got disbanded after being caught by guards dragons in the Shifting Expanse but Freyja was able to escape and begun stealing food from the electric dragon clans and towns in order to survive.

However this soon developed into the young ice dragon stealing more than just food, but also valuable electronic devices and componants that she would sell to other elemental clans beyond the borders for a hefty profit. It would be this line of thievery that would lead Freyja to meeting Magdala, a construct dragon made to be a guard by the electric dragons.

But Magdala proved to be no match for Freyja and she bested him easily, stealing what she could grab before departing. While she found Magdala to be an impressive creation of the lightning dragons and even debated harvesting him for scrap she figured he would be too complex for her to take apart.

But she would reconsider these thoughts the next time they encountered one another and Magdala once again challenged her to a battle. Surprised at the constructs sentience and asking for a battle rather than outright attacking, Freyja would agree but on the terms that if she won she would take what she pleased and leave. Magdala agreed on terms that if he won she would comply with whatever request he asked. Assuming he intended to take her to his masters, Freyja agreed anyway already planning to go back on her word should Magdala actually defeat her.

But he could not, and Freyja defeated him once again. And many times after. Each time Magdala asking the same request when she would return to steal and freyja despite herself could not help but enjoy sparring with the mechanical dragon, finding it to be more thrilling than stealing even.

However one day Magdala either by luck or simply having learned her techniques would finally get the upper claw and throw Freyja to the ground, his claws at her throat in a clear victory. Ready and prepared to backstab and run, Freyja asked what his request would be. But much to her surprise, instead of asking she accompany him to his masters, Magdala asked Freyja if he could accompany her instead, if she would allow him to travel by her side and to be her guard.

While stunned by such a request, Freyja would consider it. Although she felt she had no such need for a guard, figuring it would be handy to have such a powerful warrior by her side the ice dragon would accept and Magdala would stay by her side and even aid Freyja in her line of work his loyalties now fully switched.

With Magdala's aid and knowledge of the land, Freyja would soon start to make a mighty fine profit, stealing more valuable items and selling them on. The two would become infamous in the land, the theiving raven and her contruct companion and Freyja would start to warm up more and more to Magdala, especially when he would actively fight any dragon who would come close to catching her.

This fondness Freyja would have for Magdala would eventually become love and the two became mates. By this point the two had become very wealthy from the riches gained from pawning off their stolen gains. Finding a comfortable spot in the Highland Scrub close to the border between the Shifting Expanse and the coast of the Sea of a Thousand Currents the two would settle down and as the years went by start their own clan consisting of their many children and descendants.

But their past would come back to haunt them greatly as the angry electric dragons they had stolen from would not forget their actions. They would send out bounty hunters to track the two down and kill them and any associated with them including kin. One terrible night they would be found and the hunters would lay waste to the clan killing most as they were unprepared.

Awakened by the sounds of fighting, Freyja and Magdala would rush from their dens to find their clan in chaos. They would instantly jump into battle, their combined efforts quickly overwhelming their attackers. But the hunters had come with a plan, as the electric dragons had given them a specially made EMP device designed to destroy Magdala.

When Freyja saw the device she knew immedietely what it's purpose was for. She had stolen enough componants and schematics from the dragons to know what kind of things they could make. Without hesitation she barralled her way through the attackers and snatched the device away from them. But it had already been set off, and before Freyja could fully crush it in her claws it went off creating a large explosion, laying waste to the land around and knocking Freyja out cold.

When Freyja awoke much later on, she was badly injured and being carried by the few of her clan that had survived the onslaught and were making their way out of the Shifting Expanse on a ship sailing across the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Despite her injuries, Freyja frantically looked around and asked about the whereabouts of Magdala her mate.

But she would only be met by wearied faces and sad eyes as they informed her Magdala had perished in the blast. Shocked and unwilling to believe this, Freyja attemped to take flight to go back to the location of their now destroyed home but had to be held back by the others as her wounds were too grevious and she would bleed out and die.

Unable to go back, Freyja would use what strength she had left to let out a mighty roar, a call for her partner. But she recieved no call in return. Too weak to do anything else, Freyja slumped back down onto the deck, heartbroken and mourning.

It would take a long time for Freyja to recover from her injuries. She and what little remained of her clan would end up at Driftwood Drag within the Tangled Wood where she would stay while she healed over the years. Once her strength had returned in full, Freyja would choose to depart unable to bear being around the others anymore. She would head to the Scarred Wasteland where she would harden herself once more and find a clan to join on the Wandering Contagion.

There she would learn herbology from it's members and become a skilled herbologist dedicated to her craft which aided in blocking out the heavy grief she still felt even after so much time had passed. She would even partner with one of the plague dragons, bearing two children in an attempt to move on and forget.

But forget she could not and so the relationship remained only a one off. However she remained coldly dedicated to her newfound practice and continued to provide for her clan.

Until one day years later when a messenger would arrive enquiring about matching Freyja's description. Instantly wary and on guard assuming this to be a spy sent by the electric dragons of the Shifting Expanse, Freyja would ask what they want through her clanmates and the messenger would tell them that a construct dragon named Magdala was searching for her.

At once Freyja would be alarmed, angry and shocked. Assuming this to be a joke, a ploy to bring her out of hiding so she could be executed after all these years she nearly went and killed the courier on the spot. But the dragon provided proof, a parchment with a symbol written upon it. A special secret code that only Magdala and Freyja knew that they had created long long ago.

Stunned and taken aback, the stone cold walls Freyja had built up over the years would crumble as she realised her beloved was still alive and was searching for her. She set the messenger loose demanding that they send a message back and bring him here. If it truly was her long lost love she wished to see him for herself. But if she should be met by a group of hunters then they would be swiftly killed and the messenger she would hunt down herself.

But it was no trick as Freyja would soon find. Standing at her clans border with it's warriors by her side ready for a fight, the ice dragon watched as two dragons approached in the distance and immedietely in her heart she knew who one of them was. But she refrained herself from taking flight on the chance that it was still a trap. But then the two dragons landed, a great white Imperial and none other than Magdala himself.

For a moment there was silence before the construct dragon let out a mighty roar, causing the plaguelings to flinch and bare their fangs. But Freyja bellowed back and ran toward her long lost mate, and the two danced around one another ingreat joy before taking to the skies releasing breaths of ice and lightning creating a beautiful display of their reunion.

When Magdala asked for Freyja to accompany him back to his own clan, Freyja agreed without hesitation. With fond farewells to the plague dragons that gave her a home for so long, the three dragons would depart, with Freyja and Magdala flying so close together that their wings would touch.

Once they arrived at the Clown Clan in Millmeadows, Magdala would show Freyja his new home and share the tales of how he arrived here. Freyja would likewise share her own and when asked to stay she would agree with gladness, finding a new role for herself tending to the farmlands and utlising her skills as a herbologist to aid her new clan.

Years have passed since then and the two are still seldom seen apart. Only when Magdala joins the travelling troupe is Freyja seen alone but she has no fear as she knows her beloved will return to her and she now spends her days tending to the crops and guarding the farmlands, and on occasion still teaching hatchlings some little tips and tricks from her old past life.
