Though deeply ingrained in Khandian history and culture, scientists and alchemists are still finding new ways to utilize khoal and it's versatile capabilities.

Optima is Khand's foremost scientist working primarily with khoal. Though some may question the practicality of their inventions, it's never been in doubt that Optima is Khand's most infamous eccentric inventor.

List of notable patents: khoal egg boiler, khoal butter warmer, khoal rain repeller, khoal sky watch, khoal cookie shaper, khoal mine collapse detector, khoal pen that never runs out of ink, khoal hover trolly, khoal spatial matter dilation

Not all of their inventions are so frivolous, one such design—the khoalBot—once accidentally took its creator's words quite literally; and now Optima has a prosthetic leg.
