Though Spirals typically server under The Windsinger, like many species, some had shifted allegiance to other patrons. Zahi's family were members of a Spiral clan dedicated to The Flamecaller. Their clan was attacked by a larger group of neighboring Coatls, and Zahi's unhatched egg was abandoned when his family was forced to flee.

He was found by the newly hatched Vert, who was also part of an abandoned nest, and bonded with him quickly. They were eventually discovered and taken in by Kismet, a Skydancer who heard the hatchlings crying while flying overhead. He's proven to be more than a handful and is undoubtedly the most energetic of the two, but being a natural multi-tasker, he promises to be diverse in his capabilities. If he isn't napping or having healing lessons with Kis, he's likely sneaking off to hunt for shiny bits.
