Ozzy has always been an outcast. As a young hatchling, his parents would complain about how his energy and attention span were more like a Spiral's than a Guardian's. His mother eventually left to serve the Icewarden, and his father left him to a different clan to raise him.
As he got older, he didn't get any less strange for a Guardian. He's a wanderer at heart, but has never felt the instinctive urge to search for a charge. Rather, he loves to travel for the sense of freedom it gives him, and the ability to do whatever he wants without anything holding him back.
However, by the time he met Abriana, he had started to feel insecure about his lack of a charge. Am I less of a dragon? he thought to himself. Is there something wrong with me? When she came to him with an contract- lay a nest with her for the sake of an experiment, and get free food and lodging for the entire time it took until the hatchlings were grown- he only partly agreed for the amenities. He half-heartedly hoped that maybe his child/ren could be his charge.
The hatchlings are now grown. With Abriana's permission, he's decided to leave and continue travelling with one of his children. He still hasn't felt the urge for the search, but he's starting to feel like that may be fine. Search or not, charge or not, he'll protect his child and try to be the best father that he can be.
