I don't know if I could explain this in a way that makes sense to anyone else who isn't trans, but Fawn is very much just me as a little girl, before knowing I was trans. I can't put into words what it is, that when I look at her I see the exact embodiment of some seven year old little girl who isn't really a girl. Something about the colors, and the way fae just look I think.

I remember when I started, she was the progenitor I got to design. I was on mobile, so I really couldn't tell what the colors looked like, and I just picked whatever sounded cool from the uncolored drop-down box. When I got to see her, although nothing was wrong with her, I really wasn't a huge fan. Especially when followed up by FrozenSun, who had much more appealing colors.

I didn't like her much. In a very similar way I didn't like my younger self. Honestly, it bordered on hate. I didn't even want to acknowledge her. But with a lot of time, and a lot of processing, I've come to love both Fawn and my younger self as they are. I'm still very trans, a man through and through, but that doesn't mean I have to stop loving the parts of me from before I knew I was trans. I love that little girl who was a boy and just didn't know. She needed a lot more love than she got. How could anyone hate her? Especially me of all people. Just because I am trans does not mean I need to hate myself, I can still love that little kid.

I don't know what gene plan to pick for Fawn. I want to pick something that looks nice, but I also need it to feel like her. I love her, and all the love I feel for her is the same love I feel for my younger self. I love you <3
