Biography
"Love Potion" Imperial.
Name means love and affection in Swahili.
Potion Recipe:
________________________________________
"Love Potion" Imperials take ingredients that they find around Sornieth to come up with a blend of love potion that has powerful magical abilities. They store their potion in their capsule bellies, and use it much like venom to influence other creatures.
While large doses can indeed cause the target to develop romantic feelings, it is rare for a Love Potion Imperial to use quantities large enough to inspire true love. Instead, small doses are used to influence others in their favor, or calm tensions in case of conflict.
Mates will often share each others' potion as an exercise in bonding. Love Potion Imperials usually choose their mates for life, but may have more than one permanent mate, with trios of bonded dragons being common. In the event that a dragon dies, their surviving mate or mates will almost always change their potion recipe.
Some dragons use their potion as a weapon in battle, causing their enemies to fall hopelessly in love and stop fighting altogether. The Love Potion dragon then deserts their now infatuated enemy to mourn their broken heart. Luckily, the potion has a half-life of no more than 12 hours.
While no two dragons use the exact same recipe, some ingredients are popular choices. Flowers and fruits for their sweet aroma and flavours, as well as medicinal ingredients and even minerals are all popular choices. Young dragons sometimes attempt to add meat to theirs, but soon learn it is a poor choice as it tends to spoil. A small number of talented dragons have managed to successfully add components of animals to their potions, but this is quite rare.
Love Potion Imperials can be easily identified, as they are proud creatures who each think their potion recipe is the best, and enjoy showing off their ingredients to anyone who lingers around long enough. Some dragons have attempted to hold potion contests to test whose is the most potent, but the judges typically become too infatuated with the contestants to ever come to a decision.
