Biography
Xenolith subspecies
The map had lead the duo towards the northern side of the windswept plateau in search for the calling in his ears; a calling of the winds.
Their journey had been a long one; they were a resident a clan Boltninja as they had blood of a subspecies flowing through them. Eate was a beautiful black skydancer with snippets of peridot embedded into his skin. His companion was a bird that decided to make his back a home one day while he took a nap outside. Their day had been normal so far, walking around the clan, getting food, seeing if there were any good freelance mission on the message board; but nothing stood out. He was about to just head home and do what normal dragons do at home when a gust of wind blew past him. He paused as the wind went by and he saw he could hear something. He turned and faced the gusts head on, trying desperately to decipher what was being said. “Fi....me...sum...me” was all he could pull out of the winds before the gust vanished away. Eate had never had an encounter with a wind dragon and there were none around at the time. He felt a gust of determination surround him and headed to the library.
The library was full of books of all deities and races, bleeding generations of knowledge. He calmly approached the librarian and asked where he could find the books on the wind flight and showed him the way. They walked near the backend of the library and the librarian pointed at the section. He thanked them and got to studying. He spent the rest of the day there gathering knowledge no fire dragon should know about the winds but nothing spoke about talking gusts of wind. He felt like giving up when the librarian came back over to him and asked “why do you want to learn about the wind flight?” Eate explained his situation whilst trying not to sound crazy. The librarian stared in thought at every word he said and once he finished the librarian said “I didn’t think the windsinger would choose a fire to help spread his word but then again he is a trickster. Hmm what you heard was a spirit created by him. Most know of the ice flights hummingbirds being his ears on our world but the windsinger is reported to walk among his people. Come with me, I’ll show you a map of where a hidden shire to him is.” The librarian took off shortly followed by him. They entered a darkly lit room filled with dimming candles and scraps of paper scattered everywhere. “This is where I keep the knowledge the public doesn’t need to know about. Some of the gods don’t want to be disturbed but clearly the winds speak to you.” The librarian shuffled papers around and pulled out a slightly damaged map. “This map will lead you far into the windswept. I suggest you get yourself dressed to see a living god because they will want respect.” The librarian marked over to a shelf thurther back and pulled out a mask, a scarf, a map holder and some bracelets. “These are meant for only the wind dragons but you will be eating their respect soon. Add to the costume as you go on your journey; embrace the wind.” With that the librarian escorted him out of the library and allowed him to start his adventure (but first he told clan leader he won’t be back for a while because of gods (which she allowed))
They flew through the ashfall wastes through the night to reach and landed on the very outskirts of the zephyr steppes. They chose to walk to their destination, respecting the journey they chose to accept. Over many days they met some locals who allowed them to stay in makeshift rooms at night and trade treasure for extra warming clothes for the more higher in the cloud experiences. Many asked why a fire would venture out to their homelands and Eate would reply “answers” every time. The map made them go north, through thick bamboo forests and steep mountains but nothing was going to get in their way. It was around the fourth day when Eate felt a gust of wind around him once more “Clo...Sum..me” the winds then left once more. He didn’t dare stop now for any breaks, he knew today was the day. The forests only got thicker and the climbs were nearly impossible to do without his wings but he continued on, his feeling were almost guiding him at this moment. When he reached the top of a differnet mountain he stopped and felt the change; he was very nearby. He looked around for a bit before seeing a heavily sealed hole covered in thick bamboo stalks. He hacked at the plants and crawled through and inside he the power of wind. The cave was hollowed our with the top having a hole, shining light upon a windsinger statue. The room was full of streams and bamboo overflowing but not taking up too much of the shrines land. Gusts of wind blew behind Eate, guiding him towards the shine. When he reached the shine, he gently placed his claws on its chest and spoke “windsinger, I have come. You have been speaking to me the past days and I have heard your call. Guide me.” He removed his paw off the shrine and closed his eyes. Nothing happened for a while and he was almost losing his doubt on the god when the winds picked up and said “open your eyes, i am your guide.” Eate did as was asked and looked up. He saw an image of a ridgeback with green feathered wings surrounded by many gusts, flying above him. “I am your guide set by the windsinger himself. I’m sorry if my appearance frightens you I tried to look as common to you and your bird. Windsinger wishes for you to learn the ways of the wind child. Are you prepared?” All Eate did next was fly up towards the sprit and nod.
