Biography
The Matriarch, Lythian is the progenitor of this particular clan and lover of creating poisons.
(Work in progress)
The night was a quiet backdrop to the bright fire that burned its way through a tree. Nearby, starkly outlined by the light of the flames, stood the former resident of the tree itself.
Lythian's fins were all low as she leaned on her staff and watched. In the shadow of the dragon's small body, curled around her foot, was a snake with eyes that shone with intelligence equal to that of his owner. He, too, watched the conflagration. He let out the occasional hiss, as if trying to communicate, but the dragon didn't understand the creature. She still reached down with a free paw and scratched the snake's chin gently.
Well, this was just great. When she added the newest resin to her hive, she didn't expect it to be as flammable as it turned out to be. Usually, small cauldron fires were nothing. Now, though? Now, her home and everything in it went up in flames before she could even do anything about it. It appeared that it was time to start over, then. She straightened up and turned her back towards the burning tree.
Flicking her wings a bit so they settled into a more comfortable position, she started walking away.
The snake slithered up to coil more securely around her long neck, hanging almost like a necklace so that he wasn't stepped on. He hissed still, his tongue flicking in and out ever so often.
She didn't think the neighbors would appreciate her staying around.
She looked over her shoulder to see dark forms darting around in the darkness, trying to put out the fire.
Hopefully, it wouldn't end poorly for them. Her fins shifted with anxiety, but she turned away and kept going.
