Once, they were a great Arcane astronomer, eyes ever skyward.
Once, they were a great Light philosopher, a voice to teach.
Once, they were a great Shadow mage, master of their craft.

Highly revered and respected, they traveled all throughout Sornieth together, spreading their knowledge in hopes for a brighter future. It was at a shady gathering on the borders of Shadow and Light, the trio appeared with the intent to give a lecture - but instead were sacrificed, preserved, and buried together, with sinister purpose.

Back from the dead after hundreds of years, coalesced into a new, hellish form, the being now known as Asterius aimlessly wanders along the borders of the Tangled Wood and the Sunbeam Ruins, their old names and histories not quite lost - just out of reach. As such, their consciousnesses seem to slip in and out of lucidity, at times speaking clearly and intelligently, other times mindless, vacuous.

Oddly enough, Asterius has not caused much destruction. However, this does not stop Clan Umbra's guard from interfering in their constant wandering - when they stray too close to the lair, they must be pushed back. As the Emperor has not yet engaged them violently, Clan Umbra too upholds this unspoken bargain of no violence: the Umbral Guard simply lures them as far away as they are able, though for some reason, the Emperor will never leave the territories of Shadow and Light. Something keeps them tethered here, though Clan Umbra is unsure of what.

Much to most of the clan's dismay, ____, the Wispwillow Witch, has been attempting to establish contact with this monster...

And there's a lake
And at the bottom you'll find all my friends
They don't swim 'cause they're all dead
We never are what we intend or invent

the Witch
A devoted priestess of the Shadowbinder, whose Shadow magicks were unrivaled throughout the Tangled Wood. Most of her time was spent at the Forum of the Obscured Crescent, unless she had work to do with her beloved companions...

Today, she is the left head of Asterius.

the Astronomer
A prominent astronomer who worked almost exclusively at The Observatory, when not traveling and delivering lectures with their dearest companions. Their star charts were often compared - positively - to the Arcanist's, and much like the young deity, the Astronomer's eyes were ever skyward; old Arcane scrolls state they stared skyward so long, their eyes mirrored the very stars they catalogued...

Today, they make up the central head of Asterius.

the Philosopher
A well-spoken scholar who - according to legend - worked underneath the Lightweaver, and whose teachings are still widely taught among the Light flight to this day, though his name has been lost to history...

Today, he is the right head of Asterius.
