Biography
Coco and Bean's Caramel Truffles
The excited chatter of the pair fills the air, the growly roars of the Coco and the happy trills of Bean create a surprisingly more busy atmosphere than two dragons would be expected to create. Their scales and feathers fill the air with the inviting smell of caramel as they move about the lair. The pair is widely celebrated not only for their uniquely sweet colors and smells, but also as the protectors and fighters of the clan.
Bean is often busy out in the fields, hunting prey and fighting off predators to keep the clan fed and safe. But he always makes time to return home and lovingly care for his hatchlings along with the help of Coco. Their hatchlings are very prized by the clan, and many dragons take part in caring for them, so once they are grown may travel to far away clans to share their pride and knowledge of their clan of dessert dragons.
Caramel Truffle dragons are characterized by very unique color pattern, consisting of caramel, chocolate, and cream. They usually consist of the cherub, seraph, tiger, or stripes patterning, and always sport a cream underbelly. Their primary color also contributes to their sweet scent that gives these dragons their name. Their scales and feathers are known to be slightly sticky to the touch. While a Caramel Truffle dragon can consist of any dragon breed or element, Truffle dragons that are born from the Earthshaker are the most respected and prized. Its rumored that their tears are actual caramel. Imperial Caramel Truffles, also playfully referred to as Imported Truffles, are also highly prized for their rarity and, of course, size. Imperial Truffles, due to their size, are able to make the entire surrounding area and whole lairs smell of sweet, sweet, caramel.
Caramel Truffle dragons are closely related to Chocolate Truffle dragons, who sport a chocolate primary and a caramel secondary instead, but share the same patterning and cream underbelly. Chocolate Truffles also sport a rich chocolate scent as opposed to a sweet caramel smell. However despite their close relation, the species do not often interact. They are tolerant of each other and are not aggressive in anyway, but do not voluntarily befriend each other. Its believed that the two species are very smell-oriented and prefer the company of similarly smelling dragons.
Caramel Truffles, like many Baker's Dragons, are very selective of their mate's. Caramel truffles traditionally only mate with other pure Caramel Truffle dragons, however there have been instances of Caramel Truffles choosing mates that look similar to a Caramel Truffle dragon. Truffles are also selective about breeds. Most Truffles will only breed in their same breeding rarity group, often preferring their own species. The only exception is the appearance of an imperial Truffle. Any Truffle will happily take on an imperial mate, however imperials have been known to be selective and have a strong preference to nocturn mates.
Also like many Baker's Dragons, Truffles don't often sport any kind of apparel (the fabric often gets stuck to their scales, fur, or feathers). If they do choose to wear clothing, it usually only consists of small accessories like bows, necklaces, gloves, or hats. They almost never wear full-body garments such as coats, pants, or dresses. Truffles often have a strong preference for clothing that matches their natural colors, so browns or whites are popular among them. However they have been known to be partial to reds, pinks, or other sweet contrasting colors. They rarely wear blues, blacks, or greys.
