B I O G R A P H Y

Uel was born to a pair of sea-faring imperials named Oscar and Cara. His parents were strong supporters of the Tidelord, so many of their children were exalted to serve under their beloved god. However, a building sense of guilt and regret drove Cara, upon hatching another bunch of eggs, to steal one of her children and leave him far from the Sea of a Thousand Currents and in the Flamecaller's territory to fend for himself. Thankfully, Uel was found fairly quickly by a small, loving lair and taken in. In his youth, Uel was rambunctious, hyper and highly intelligent. He would find ways into the Lairkeeper's vault for daily fun, scale the Great Furnace as a past-time and was known to play pranks on the other dragonets. He just couldn't seem to stand still, even for a single moment.

This all changed when he was introduced to an old, rusted, brass steampunk lantern tail attachment, which immediately sparked an intense curiousity in him. He had to know what made it work, he just had to. Thus, he gathered all the books he could find on technology and spent a full month studying away on the subject, fiddling with the lantern from time to time when he thought he had an idea, only to disassemble the add-on later. This went on and on, until something finally clicked and, all of a sudden, Uel finally had his first idea. It wasn't too original, just increasing the lantern's light from a pale glow to a formidable shine using a combination of various beasts' fur and wax, but he was so proud that he didn't even care by the time he was finished. Little did he know, this was the start of his life's work.

Now, Uel spends his time using his trusty lantern to light the way for travellers. He also spends a fair portion of his time devoted to his devices, tweaking them to perfection until the next day, when he'd mess with them again. His eccentric days aren't over yet, though, as he still holds a child-like energy when around the people he trusts, which is a feat in of itself. Uel sometimes wonders about his parents and has longed to meet them properly, but has a fear that they will have expectations for him that he isn't ready to meet, so he is currently standing by. But, he has finally found his calling, and now nothing could possibly stand in his way.

_Feats_

____Since his debut as an inventor, Uel has been getting into all sorts of trouble and mischief. From his first encounter with harpies, to his most recent adventure protecting an introverted pearlcatcher, Uel boasts an impressive number of situations he's survived. Most start up with his newest inventions and end with them too, but nowadays he just seeks the thrill and novelty of such expeditions. Uel once outwitted an entire clan of longnecks that were out to steal his tech, not out of fear, but out of sheer boredom.

____One of his more captivating accomplishments was when he spent an entire winter in The Southern Icefield trying to get a falsely convicted fae out of prison. It took a combined effort of his smarts, his machines and a band of friends to finally get the poor fae out of there, which was no laughing matter in the specific clan the fae had been arrested in. They were uptight and had severe punishments for those who didn't act according to their ideals, guilty or not. There was also a time in which Uel masqueraded as a noble class imperial, putting his good looks to use for once and charming a baroness out of war with a neighboring lair. He found himself in a bit of a pickle after, but was able to pry himself away from her and find a willing, suitable replacement to stand by her in his place.

_Hobbies_

____As an avid inventor, Uel loves to fidget with trickets and tech galore, oftentimes coming up with wacky new machines that somehow always seem to surprise others with their capabilities. Truly, he never strived to be a genius, it just comes naturally to him and he will get flashes of inspiration, or "hit moments" as he calls them, which give him ideas on how to further technology and his own creations. Uel loves to play pranks on others, setting up elaborate traps to catch his unsuspecting victims off guard, which never ceases to amuse him.

____Though he has a serious job, lighting the way for lost and weary travelers, Uel always seems to make the best of it, cracking jokes and staying optimistic, even in the worst of situations. He loves to add components to his lantern in case of such emergencies, with beams to disintegrate rocks and a bubble capable of holding three imperial dragons that can provide cover from any sort of attack, Uel likes to be prepared and have fun while doing it. Those who meet him usually warm up to his personality over time, which can get his mental cogs turning, prompting him to think of even more ideas. He revels in this endless wave of imagination, some of his best machines coming from similar tidalwaves of eureka.
