Being born in the region of Sornieth known best for its concentration of raw magic, it was inevitable for Sandstream to pick up on that, whether he knows it or not. Even in his early childhood, it always clung to him in ways that he takes for granted. In his mind, there's nothing he can't do, and nothing can stop him from getting what he wants.

His selfish arrogance isn't exactly unwarranted, but Sandstream has found trouble in the past because of it. Before he found himself a clan to settle down in, he wandered Sornieth, drifting from clan to clan in the hopes of finding one that could possibly offer him something he didn't already have. Unfortunately, at first that meant finding some rather shady clans. While initially he was wary of underhanded dealings and even outright murder, his hunger for perfection in all things drove him to commit unspeakable atrocities.

Only when he left those clans behind did he realise just how far he had fallen, and from then on made it his objective to perfect himself before any art, to purify himself through hard work and temper his soul to prevent anything like that happening again.
