Biography

A dark dragon, both in appearance and personality, but also quite a handsome one; Sullivan seems to be made of twisting shadows. His primary color is a dark purple, only shades away from black, with a distinctive iridescence that seems to reflect even the slightest light within it's darkness. His underside is a few shades lighter; a purplish gray that nicely matches his main coloration. At a glance one might consider him rather plain, devoid of markings - but that isn't quite true; faint, dark blue circuit-patterns cut through the purple, twisting along his body. A deep scar traces along his right cheek, slashing across his eye and leaving his vision in the eye half of what it would be normally. Of course, one isn't likely to see the scar - or at least not all of it, for it is incredibly rare to see him without his mask; a carefully crafted piece of ivory, shielding his scar and shadowing his eye. The eye that remains visible is a startling pink color; intense and deep, betraying none of what is going on in his mind.

Slipping through the night, hidden by the shadows he resembles, Sulli has a tendency to keep to himself. To say he is friendly would be a complete and utter lie - quite the opposite, he'd rather be left to his brooding, spending all his hours hidden away from those he shares a home with. A secretive fellow, no one really seems to know what's going on in his mind, and few ever will. Aloof and quite standoffish, he isn't the sort to participate in, well, anything; in fact no matter what is going on, he always seems rather bored with it. Impatient and snappy, hatchlings quickly learn not to pester him, and even the most dense of dragons seem to realize he is best left alone.

Verging on malevolence, Sulli seems to, at the least, have very little concern for others and their fate. Perhaps not a dragon you'd want to have watching your back, but not quite 'evil'. He is motivated by arrogance and not much else - except perhaps 'experimentation'. On the rare chance Sullivan can find something to peak his interest, for however brief, he pursues it - and unfortunately, one of the few things that does seems to be experimenting. These can range from completely innocent to.. much less, and volunteers should use caution, least they end up maimed or worse in the process. Heartless? Perhaps just a bit, but knowledge is power, after all.

A father to many, and a mate to none, Sullivan spends his life on the fringe of society, but he isn't quite alone. More often than not, he tends to take temporary mates, regardless of gender. The purpose of these fleeting affairs really isn't clear, but he usually picks those who take a strange interest in him for one reason or another. These pairings often result in offspring, but he is not the sort to sit on a nest or take part in rearing the young that result; and it isn't long before he moves on entirely. He makes no displays of love or loyalty, however - the other half of the relationship is not deceived or manipulated. Should they happen to expect more than they receive, then that is their fault, not his.

As one might expect, his back story is one that is not too easily learned. His hatchling time is left unknown, even with the most forceful of prying, but most theorize he was a rather unloved little one, who was made see the harshest of realities very early on. His fleeting or nonexistent interest in many things also stirs the belief that he has 'lived his life' already, so to speak - that while he is quite a young dragon with a lifetime more to lead, he has seen and done anything he find worth doing, and has experienced more bad than good in his life so far. The accuracy of these theories? Plausible, but never confirmed, and not likely to be. However, there are some tales that cannot be hidden, and his most recent history - at least, the happenings within his last clan - are among those. Of course, tales can shift and change when whispered from dragon to dragon, but this one seems quite accurate.

The rumors tell of his time in the Lightning Dancer clan; the one he resided in prior to joining the Mischief. They say he spent quite awhile there, lurking within the shadows with no clear purpose but to observe and gather information on his new clan mates, leaving them uneasy. As time passed, he supposedly did find a friend within the clan - the scientist, Azathoth, who came to trust him completely, despite his mate's suspicion of the shadow lurker. With his assistance, the clan soon harness Arcane energy, enhancing their science and research - unfortunately, Sullivan's intentions weren't quite as pure as they seemed, and Azathoth's trust was ill-placed in him.

It seemed Sulli was conducting an experiment on his own; though no one is quite sure what exactly it was. Regardless, the results were terrible; the unfortunate scientist who had put his trust in the Spiral was left blinded, and word of what occurred quickly traveled to Cthylla. Enraged by her mate's injuries, she confronted Sullivan, and left him with a deep scar across his face - a permanent reminder that he was not welcome within the clan anymore, and next time, it would be much, much worse.
