Log 1: 21/02/2018 - 28/02/2018:
My first adventure into the big wide world away from home in The Scarred Wastelands, Wandering Contagion region. Originally born in the Windswept Plateau, of the Reedcleft Ascent region and then sold on as a child to JynxTheTrickster. I know I am only 2 weeks of age but I felt like I needed to get out and see more of the world. My first adventure came at the caring hands of WiggyCat]. Her clan known for housing travelers before and having a traveling dragon of her own Isabella this lair seemed perfect for my first week away.

Upon my arrival at The Southern Icefield, The Fortress of Ends hoarfrost sparkled in the sun, it looked like millions of diamonds, it was at that point i was so mesmerized by it all i flew head first into a pillar of thick ice and fell tumbling to the ground. I remember hearing a noise like a warning horn had been blown and then blacked out. I awoke later that day with a cool compress on my head and a warm blanket over me. Sylvanus was sitting on my chest and looked at me with wide eyes.

Sylvanus: Well hello, you must be a traveler and far from your home by the looks of things. I am the clan matriarch and oldest member.
Auguste: Oh hello, I am indeed a traveler and it is very nice to meet you.

Sylvanus then went on to tell me how she had seen me with her keen eyes and it had been her who sounded the horn. I had been picked up and carried back by Quan who although is older than Sylvanus in age, is a relatively new member to the clan. He is also the carrier for any fallen clan members, despite his size and smaller wings they are incredibly powerful and he can lift twice his weight! After being put in the guest quarters, and seen to by various dragons with various skills, poked, prodded, thermometers shoved into places that make you wince, I was given the ok and left to rest. I had however noticed my pearl was missing.

Sylvanus: Ah yes, now about that. When we found you it had been badly damaged by the fall and the freezing conditions so we sent it down to our alchemists Hootington and her daughter Eglantine. They are incredibly adept and are working hard to fix it and also to give it the blessings of the Icewarden so it does not crack again. You have come to us in the coldest time of the year, while you are welcome here, we think you are a little mad to have journeyed here now.

With that, Sylvanus flew off. I fell asleep again and woke later to a steaming bowl of insect soup with some rather delicious looking salad leaves on the side. Gobbling it down i heard footsteps approach. WiggyCat popped his head round my doorway.

WiggyCat: How are we feeling? Is the food alright?
Auguste: Oh I am much better now I have had food, and yes it is delicious thank you very much.

The fire coloured coatl came and plopped next to me and curled up like a cat. We chatted for an hour or so and then he suggest I come down and meet some of the others. They are curious to meet their new visitor who came in such harsh weather. WiggyCat is a tiger striped coatl with a silky coat. He is the clans leader and he was second to join the clan and all decisions go through him and Sylvanus.

Over the next several days I got to meet more and more of the clan members, they were celebrating the Trickmurk Circus annual event and due to inclement weather, going outside was not an option. WiggyCat told me that it was some sort of siberian eastern blizzard that had developed and it was not safe even for the most hardy of dragons to be out in it. I had been rescued just as the blizzard hit the edges of the Fortress and therefore incredibly lucky to be alive. Tales of past travelers and explorers rang in my ears. Milton the bubblegum pink coatl who was sadly no longer available. Senwith who had visited briefly from the Observatory situated within the Starfall Isles. The beautiful Octavia who visits regularly from The Molten Scar in the Ashfall Waste. She comes to see her daughter ClaudiaOctavia and share tales of travel with her and the rest of the clan. There have been many more travelers but alas I could not remember all their names and I did not write them down.

I was called to go down to the alchemy labs to see Hootington and Eglantine, apparently they had finished my pearl and it was ready to pick up. The energetic and bouncing bogsneaks greeted me with hugs and squeals of joy. Handing me the pearl I noticed it was slightly different than before.

Hootington: Ah yes, I can see in your eyes you have noticed the difference. The pearl was easy enough to fix with some superglue, pearl dust and the cauldron, getting the Icewardens blessing however was another matter entirely but it was done.
Eglantine: It has a teal shimmer to it under certain light, just like your lace pattern. It is so pretty. You are lucky it was blessed but now it will never break even under the harshest cold conditions.
Hootington: While it is impervious to the cold and frost please still be careful with it.

I thanked the bogsneak pair and sat with them a while listening to their tale of how Hootington became a bogsneak in the first place. She explained that a new recipe had come along and could not make out what the end result was so she concocted it anyway and after a lot of trial and error and making a lot of pre-ingredients and pre-pre-ingredients, a week had passed and she had a scroll. Still unable to decipher the text on it and even after speaking to several older dragons, none of who could help, she decided to just go with it and see what happens. Hootington explained she felt a tingling sensation as she transformed from a tundra into a bogsneak. her fur receded and turned into a thick smooth hide, her neck elongated and her claws grew. Transforming within the ice region made her hide thicker than a normal bogsneak, a trait which has been passed down to Eglantine. It helps when foraging in the cold harsh region and for some odd reason her feet have what can only be described as suckers on them. When I asked about this, she said it must be a quirk with the transformation for only her and Eglantine have them. It helps when climbing the terrain and being a lookout as well as causing mischief as no-one ever expects to see a bogsneak upside down like a bat! It is their party trick and it amuses every traveler as well as the rest of the clan.

As I was due to leave I was handed a package, inside it contained a beautiful piece of apparel Prismatic Crystalscales they glistened with all the colours of the rainbow and the note attached said each dragon in the lair contributed 1 crystalscale of their own colouring to make this. Items like this are only bestowed upon travelers who make it as far as the Fortress of Ends and survive to tell the tale. The scales are imbued with ice power to help protect the wearer from sub-arctic conditions while they are outside. As well as this 2 more items were folded neatly Windwalker's Arctic Boots and Windwalker's Arctic Gloves They have amazing grip in the snow and ice and also protect from nasty frostbite and chilblains.

A momentary break from the blizzards and some teary farewells, off I flew back home to tell my clan what I had experienced on my first adventure out.
