As a hatchling she shared a nest with Jacob, and while it was unknown whether the two were blood related or not, as there were no parents around for which to speak of, the two grew up as siblings.

Originally supposed to have been raised by the Skydancer, Ethan--whom had been granted the right to act as their father in place of their absentee ones (or so he later claimed)--they were instead left up to be raised by their clan as a whole. Ethan had fled not long after their hatching, leaving little note as to why, though it was known that the male never quiet gained the paternal instincts that his fellows did.

Eventually though, Ethan returned, and while many would not consider him the greatest father figure, Evie adored him and was thrilled to discover that he wished to teach her and her "brother" secret fighting methods should they come across one of the Beastclans...or a particularlly moralless dragon.

Trained under Ethan while Jacob was out and about doing the Deities only know what (or, as the Imperial male so often liked to put it, "having fun"), Evie's teachings led her to become a tactician and the female took great care in planning things so that she would have an answer for each possible outcome.

This, along with her devotion to their teacher/father-figure and what he had taught her often put the siblings at odds against each other. Her, frustrated with what seems to be his near inability to think things through before starting, and him with her obsession with finding the "lost Artifacts of Dragonkind" that they were taught of and near blind reverance of a dragon that Jacob felt was rarely there for them.

Despite this, the two often accomplish any goals they may have better as a pair than they would have alone, as despite their differences in reaching said goals, they tend to both want the same thing in the end.

It was something that was seen when the two decided to venture across Sornieth to take out a supposed oncoming threat by the Beastclans--despite warnings to leave well enough, until the "danger" was proven real--as, while Evie was more inclined to search for Artifacts, as well as prevent any harm that the Beastclans may inflict, Jacob was more in favor of the second alone.

While Evie went about searching for Artifacts, Jacob went about forming a gang that he had called "The Rooks" (despite his earlier disagreement with Evie on the matter), in hopes that that would be of some help.

However, the Imperial abandoned her searching in favor of rescuing an acquaintance of Ethan's, once she had learned that he had been taking captive by the Beastclans by a Serthis Evie herself had kidnapped.

Eventually, she lended aide to her "brother" and his Rooks, stopping the Beastclan's plot in its tracks, proving that whatever their differences may be, if their end result was one and the same, they would balance each other out nicely.
