Morana has been traveling alone for a while, when one night she got attacked by plants, brambles. They came out of nowhere, surrounded her body and cut in her skin with their sharp thorns. She felt herself getting weaker quickly, air being squeezed from her lungs, vision going blurry. She closed her eyes, thinking that this would be it, the end. The brambles let go and her body fell onto the ground with a thud. The brambles retreated, thinking the job was done. Morana had only fainted though and a few hours later she woke up. With pain burning trough her body she slowly opened her eyes and she saw a huge crow looking at her. With the last bit of her strength she muttered desperately: 'Please... help me..' It kept looking at her, tilted its head and after a few seconds its flew away with a screech. The pain was getting too much again and Morana blacked out, quietly hoping that this time she wouldn't wake up again.
However she did wake up. The second time the regained consciousness she immediately felt that the pain was subdued, even though it wasn't gone completely yet. She slowly opened her eyes and she heard a soft voice say: 'Oh look, she's awake. Kaito, come quickly.'
Morana is, probably, the only survivor ever of one of Dubhan's attacks. Ironically, it was Dubhan who found her and brought her back to the clan. The healers patched her up the best they could but couldn't manage to save the skin around her skull and neither could they remove all the brambles around her body without her bleeding to death so these remain around her body.
She still is close with the crow that helped her and named him Vasco. He always follows her and when you don't see him near her he is probably somewhere in a tree or bush, quietly watching, making sure Morana is okay and ready to do whatever she asks of him.
Because of the attack not only her appearance changed, she also sometimes gets this weird feeling when she talks to or looks at Dubhan but she can't place it so always shakes it off. She heard he was who saved her so it can’t be anythng right? Though, that happy and carefree dragon is gone. She now often has a low whisper in her ear, telling her to do, often violent things which she wouldn’t even dare to think of in the past. She tries not to let anyone know of her 'problem' but she doesn't know how long it will take until her good side breaks and she gives in..
