Temperance

Kashell's "temporary" mate.

A very mild-mannered, meek, and skittish junior healer. She specializes in toxin antidotes. Though she comes from a bloodline well entrenched and respected within the clan, Temperance didn't originally see a future for herself here. She is wary of her 3 half brothers (one of whom is a magical girl, another a rising warlord, and the eldest a sports coach), half sister (who, shortly after birth, ascended to become a muse and was, centuries later after a failed power-grab, exiled by the dictatorial Dark Dame), and her mother's ex-lover, who embodies literal land-ripping havoc.

She was ready to leave until Kashell asked her to mate with him. Urged on by her family, especially her father, Temperance reluctantly agreed. Now she feels trapped within the walls of the clan. Luckily for her, Kashell's eyes are always wandering, and she thinks she'll be able to escape soon. Unfortunately for her, she's been with her "beloved mate" for more than ten centuries at this point. She's getting incredibly keen on making a break for it.

She had enjoyed spending time with Lilac (Kashell's mother) until Lilac was exiled. Pearlie, the grandmother of cures, rejected her as a student. Desperate, Temperance began an affair with quiet bad boy Florence. He comforts her somewhat, but she really, really wants her freedom. She needs to speak with the Nightly Council in order to plead her case.
