Veasna had been a gifted young hatchling in her previous clan. She could hear the whispers of fate that surrounded her lair, and though she loved her clan mates and parents she knew she could never belong. So, three days after her hatching, she left following where the whispers guided her. However, due to her color and the region she was traveling in she was quickly picked up by dragon smugglers. To their surprise she did not fight back when they stopped her and she told them that the whispers said this would happen. She traveled with the traffickers for a couple days as they made their way into the Ashfall Waste.

Night had settled on the waste when she heard the sounds of fighting from the crate they put her in when they weren't moving. She waited for a few minutes after the noises had gone before calling out. There was shuffling from outside her dark cage then the lid was lifted off the crate and a Pearlcatcher she had never seen before stared down at her. Before he could say anything to her she climbed out. Before her stood a male Ridgeback, a female and male Wildclaw, and the Pearlcatcher that had released her. They had a quick conference about what to do until she walked up to the group and asked to see Bloodmoon.

They lead her back to the sanctuary in confusion. None of them had said their leaders name aloud. But, they made their way back quickly. They entered the hidden entrance to find Bloodmoon and Aarv waiting for them. Before they could work through their shock Aarv and Veasna walked off together into the lower parts of the cave. Bloodmoon chuckled at them and explained that Aarv had come to her the moment they had left and told her that fate was whispering to him and he needed to be up at the entrance with her when the party returned. They all looked to one another and then toward the direction the two Wildclaws had walked off in.
