Biography
Bio and story by Velyanthe | 58666
Zenthra is a fierce Ridgeback. With markings the color of fresh blood covering her body, she has a very intimidating appearance and an attitude to match. She’s a powerful gladiator, fighting in the coliseum often, and dedicates some of her time to training other dragons into fierce warriors at her own personal school.
She prefers to stay silent during conversations, speaking only when necessary. Her words are curt and typically accurate--most dragons feel uneasy conversing with her and absolutely fear getting on her bad side. At times, they aren’t even certain why she makes them feel so uncomfortable; it isn’t until much later that they realize her dry humor is much more morbid than it seems.
“Go on, get back to your holes,” Zenthra growled, eyeing the crowd of young dragons as they nodded and quickly scampered off, limbs bruised and aching from the arduous training she had given them that day. Most of them wouldn’t even return to their own lairs, or didn’t have one to return to; they would stay in one of the small nearby caves, ready to train again the next day. She knew this, of course, but she wasn’t unkind; so she typically enlisted one of her Fae friends to collect food for the tired dragons, since they had no clanmates of their own to do so.
Of course, this meant they were usually given a bucket of live bugs for dinner. That would turn previously exhausted dragons into animated hunters and fishers in a heartbeat.
Smirking as she left—and hearing the horrified screeches of the newest students as they discovered their delicious bucket o’ crawlies—she flew off back to her own lair.
Upon landing, she found Nases already there. “Back so soon?” she asked playfully. “Isn’t Shimmergloom still on a hunt?”
Her mate rolled his eyes, indicating towards a small sack of food he was carrying with him; turns out he hadn’t been there long either. “We’ve got plenty for the next few days. He’s still out chasing some large game; won’t need my help with it. I left some tools with him anyway.”
“And I assume you came straight back home?” Zenthra asked dryly.
Nases sighed. As much as Zenthra respected his privacy and never pried into his jobs, she was inherently curious about the goods he’d lift each time. On rare occasion he brought back items that would really be useful to her, or he would have nothing at all with him—depending on the nature of his specific task—but usually they were just trinkets.
“Alright then, close your eyes.”
Tilting her head, Zenthra obliged anyway. She opened them again after a minute, and looked down at her neck to see a heavy silver necklace adorning it.
Growling, she leapt at him. She was not fond at all of the pretty, shiny objects that most other dragons enjoyed, like jewelry, and he knew that well. Quick as a rabbit, he hopped away from her, flying off to circle the lair as she chased him angrily.
The rest of their clanmates—those still awake around dusk, at least—simply sighed at the two. They would never understand that pair.
