The Spymistress

A rather gruff and taciturn woman, Roana comes from a land where life is hard and failure is never tolerated. Little is known about her past, other than she had a family. Once. She retreated from her ancestral homeland many years ago with no more than the scars she bares now.

Roana met Claudia early in the young queen's reign, when all four surrounding kingdoms were pressing in, vying for Claudia's favor and, more importantly, her hand in marriage. In all truth, Roana was not especially impressed with the little queen at first. Claudia lacked much of the fortitude needed in a ruler. Oh she was strong, yes. But physical strength will only get you so far. Still, for reasons known only to her own soul, Roana threw her lot in with the fresh queen. She keeps her safe from the breaching shadows cast by mortal hands.
