Chalcedony was born without an immunity to his deity's magic, and as a result he is perpetually frail and sickly as his body tries to tear itself apart. He's found his calling in the past, and spends his time preserving the clan's history in the dark, quiet confines of the lair. 		truth.png
"Hand me the next one, if you would?" Chalcedony held his hand out towards Shrike, who stretched up to give him an age-worn scroll. He scanned the shelves before him, before neatly slotting it into its place in the archive's organization system. "That seems to be the last of them in this section. Let me come back down, and we'll move on to the next--"

His words died in his throat, strangled by a wheeze. It was immediately followed by a series of violent coughs, and he felt himself lurch off of his ladder. His heart fluttered a moment as he felt his hands leave the rungs - was this how it felt to fly? - but it turned to lead as he felt the tug of gravity on his body. The next thing he knew, he hit the ground with a dull thud, barely audible over the ring in his own eardrums.

"Chalcedony!" Iska was at his side in seconds, their feathers standing on end. "Are you alright? What happened?"

"He had a coughing fit and fell," Shrike informed them. "I couldn't catch him in time--"

"I'm much heavier than you anyways," Chalcedony wheezed. WIP
