BIOGRAPHY


XXXRune is a quiet, contemplative dragon. She thinks about what she’s going to say before she says it and about what she’s going to do before she does it. Usually she’s so wrapped up in her own thoughts she has trouble keeping up with a conversation. Others will often say she has her head in the clouds, and that’s why she became an Astronomer. In reality, Rune always had a fascination with the stars and wanted to learn all she could about them. Her job at the Observatory allows her to do just that.

XXXOddly enough, Rune believes in astrology. Against the protests of her colleague, Sapphilia, Rune will gladly give dragons visiting the Observatory quick little fortunes relating to their astrological signs. She studies the positions of the celestial bodies to predict small events, such as whether a dragon with a particular sign will come into a large sum of money or perhaps find a valuable object they lost. Her predictions can be interpreted in various ways and are sort of hit and miss on whether they come “true” or not. Rune also keeps in touch with dragons across Sornieth who are part of a group of astrologers known as the Sornieth Soothsayers.

XXXRune is a bit of a mess at home. Her tendency to get lost in thought means she often forgets to clean, so it isn’t surprising to find rotting food, astrological books open everywhere, or dust bunnies made up of Rune’s fur. Her son, Phinidelus, will often stop by to clean. He doesn’t mind doing it, as he understands his mother doesn’t leave a huge mess on purpose. His visits also give him a chance to visit his mother and hear whether his father, Reinryr, has returned home from one of his expeditions.

XXXReinryr, Rune’s mate, goes off on adventures into Sornieth. He might leave for days or weeks but always returns with stories to tell and gifts for Rune and their son. To make sure his mate never forgets him, Reinryr leaves behind items that he has carried on him for long periods of time so they are rich with his scent. That way, Rune can smell the items and think about him until he returns. This practice has never failed them.

XXXWhen Majpaj the Fae came to the Calyx Coven, Rune happened to be one of the first dragons she met. The two got to talking and realized they had a handful of things in common. Today, Rune invites Majpaj over for tea at her home so the two can catch up with what is going on in their lives and just enjoy each other's company. The two friends like to joke that they're two peas in a pod, due to their similar natures.

XXXRune is good friends with a little Frostbite Hummingbird named Frigid. She found the little creature fluttering around outside her home one day and figured the poor thing was lost. Rune fed the bird and talked to it, wondering why it wasn't in the Southern Icefield where most Frostbite Hummingbirds live. No matter how many times she's told the bird to go home, it has stubbornly stayed put in her home and refuses to leave.
