"Do you realize that if you fall into a black hole, you will see the entire future of the Universe unfold in front of you in a matter of moments and you will emerge into another space-time created by the singularity of the black hole you just fell into?"

The library is old, dim. Had it been regular sconces lining the cold stone walls, it would have seemed less intimidating, but the blue-violet light coming from the torches gives off an eerie glow. The titles of the scrolls on the shelves shine brightly in the low light as the rows stretch on.

Row upon row upon row... the labels on the shelves become ever more obscure the deeper they go. Finally, at the end of the stacks, a single door stands out, tall and stone-wrought and foreboding. A lone starry-scaled gecko sleeps outside the door, perking up as it hears echoing throughout the library. It shakes itself off and scrambles through a hole in the wall, into the silence... which is then broken by shuffling and a small sigh. A voice speaks from inside, low and soft-

"Come in, I knew you were coming. I would have preferred a later appointment, but ah well- let's see if we can help find what you're looking for, hmm?"


  origins.
Born from a strange egg found in a crater in the Shifting Expanse, Procyon never took well to being around other dragons. It wasn't as if he didn't enjoy the company, yet he felt very out of place when in the company of others- not growing up like those around him made him very discouraged. After discovering some ruins with old scrolls and tomes, he quickly grew an intense interest in research, often spending days holed up in a cave poring through old papers.

Despite his preference for being on his lonesome, he still respected the other dragons around him, trying his best to share his research and glean new information. Since he knew nothing of his parents, his origin, or his predicament, he dedicated a good amount of his studies to the origin of the Gods and the stars themselves- after all, if he could figure out how all of this came to be, maybe he could feel just a bit less alone.

During one of his expeditions to uncover old materials, he discovered an old stone-built library, built into the side of a cliff overlooking the ocean. This excited Procyon immensely, as the tomes and scrolls inside were very well-kept and nearly intact. He decided to make this library his home, befriending the many geckos that now resided in the old building.

He dedicates his life to his research now and rarely ventures out except for food- but occasionally, you will see him flying under a clear moonlit sky, his feathery wings shining in the starlight.
