"Good morning ma'am, i've got a message for you"

Odin was the son of an ancient Death god, so it was only natural he would be a bit devious. Even at an early age, it was obvious that he was not only incredibly intelligent but even more incredibly cunning. Odin had a way of making you give him what he wanted without letting you realize you’d given him anything at all. In fact, every dragon that fell victim to Odin’s conniving ways always walked away from the encounter thinking Odin was a genuine soul who did things for others out of the goodness of his heart. But this was not the case. Odin was selfish, using others to get what he wanted without any regard for their wellbeing, and what Odin wanted, above all else, was power.

Odin firmly believed that the path to power was knowledge and as a result, he spent almost every waking hour in the library, reading all manner of materials: politics, business, science, mathematics, philosophy. He was perhaps the most well-read dragon in clan history, and it wasn’t long before he realized he must leave his birth clan in search of more knowledge and more connections. He wanted powerful clan leaders across the world to respect him, to seek his advice, and to follow his guidance.

So, he traveled from clan to clan, gleaning what knowledge he could, and then immediately moving on to the next reservoir of information. But wherever he went, no matter how much knowledge he obtained, it was never enough. The world was constantly changing, clans rising or falling in status, and so his job was never finished. There was always some new information, a breaking scandal, or fresh gossip waiting in every new clan he visited. It was during his travels that Odin first met a perplexing Skydancer named Noemi. He had happened upon a small marketplace and was gleaning information about nearby clans from a traveling merchant, when he felt the sense that he was being watched. He insincerely thanked the merchant for the useful information he had disclosed, and then continued to nonchalantly wander around the market, keenly aware of the shadow tracking his movements. He veered into the thick brush around the market, confident that his stalker would foolishly follow. Except they didn’t. Odin slowly realized that whoever was following him must be of higher intellectual capacity than the average low life gossips he typically encountered… and his eyes flashed in sudden interest.

And so the two dragons played a dangerous game. They followed one another through various territories, picking up bits of information here and there about one another, but never meeting face to face. Odin eventually pieced together enough to know his mysterious companion’s breed, her gender, and that she belonged to a clan, but became increasingly flustered by the lack of detailed information available on her. After months of playing cat-and-mouse, Odin had had enough. He knew he had to meet the Skydancer face to face, so one day, when he knew she was following him, he retreated deep into the forest until he was confident they were alone, and then called out to her.

Noemi appeared from the shadows as if she were made from them, and the two dragons stared each other down, their eyes gleaming, full of malice and mischief. As soon as Odin began to speak to her, he realized that he had grossly underestimated the dragon in front of him. Her cunning and intellect rivaled his own, and she didn’t yield an inch, refusing to succumb to even his most ingeniously laid traps. And despite himself, despite his selfishness and pride, Odin found himself enraptured with this powerful female. He knew that after their conversation, he could not part ways with her knowing that she possessed information about his true intentions. Knowing there was no going back, he announced that it was his desire to join her clan, and to continue their devious quest for knowledge and power together.

True to his word, Odin has remained with Noemi in their clan to this day. He acts as a courier, relaying highly classified messages between clans and sharing the useful information he uncovers with his clan, while always keeping the juiciest tidbits to himself or sharing them with his mate. Their combined power has made Odin and Noemi one of the most powerful dragon duos in the entire world. Even though no one really knows what the pair intend to do with their power, everyone is certain that they don’t want to get in their way…
