Bane was the runt of his clutch. While Tempo wanted to mercy kill him, Tirpi convinced her to let him live, explaining that him being a runt would be his challenge, and would win him favor from the Plaguebringer if he persevered. His sisters were aggressive when they were young. Bard making fun of him, Miasma trying to look strong by fighting him, and Fever wanted nothing to do with him. When they grew up, their perspectives of him changed, except Fever. Bard could sympathize with feeling out of place, and Miasma refused to believe a sibling of hers could truly be without a strength. The two sisters decided to make it up to him by fighting alongside him so he wouldn't get stepped all over. As they fought, they were impressed by his determination, but he just would never be as strong as them. Bane's parents were happy he was finally fighting in the coliseum, but Bane felt as terrible as ever. Bard and Miasma cheer him up by supporting him and his fascination with plants. While he would never push his luck as far as Bard, he also wishes he could leave Plague to join the Nature flight. If Bard could fully win his forgiveness, maybe she could find a kindred spirit in her brother. Fever is still the same cold intimidating sibling, if not more so. Still not to the same degree as his parents, who he tries to avoid. Miasma has proven to be his strongest and most devoted supporter, even when he employed nature magics in their fights. He loves Canker with all of his heart, and is her most prominent caretaker.

Bane leaves to become a healer for the nature flight when Fever and his parents leave and never return. He, Anaca, and Ahaetulla make up a trio of magic casters who set out to spread the lush greenery of the Viridian Labyrinth.

Interclan conflicts lead the trio to be chased out of the labyrinth as the clan was not keen on foreign dragons taking roost in their dens. While Ahaetulla left back to his old clan, Bane and Anaca found Kimiko and joined her band of dragons.

Bane is now the renowned healer and medic of The Leaves, and many envy his talents for healing.
