Karthus is a merchant of powerful (and potentially illegal) potions and spells who roams the port town at dawn and is somewhat difficult to get a grip on. He gets his wares from all over Sornieth, but his main source of income is actually another sort of merchandise: The shady Imperial sells information. His ears are always perked up for more secrets that could be of interest for a client one day.

Karthus has an enviable memory and never has to write down any transactions or such, which is a great help for his business. His memory might be a result of one of the secret Ice magic spells he claims to possess - but whatever it is, his mind can keep hold of information well enough that it rivals a Snapper.

The merchant has a shrewd and cunning personality, as expected from an information broker. He also has countless contacts in all eleven territories and even among the Beastclans, if the rumours are true (they most likely are). Some inhabitants of the Thonis Atoll wonder why the council hasn't thrown him out of the city yet, but most dragons are aware of the reason: The council uses his services too, of course. If you come to Karthus for potions, spells or secrets, be careful what you speak about around him either way.
