Biography

Introduction

Millions of dragons and beastclans awoke to find the sun hadn't risen one morning. The skies all across a modern Sornieth were dark, not even a single star to be seen. It persisted hours past what should have been daybreak with no end in sight. Magic of all elements became weakened, light and nature magic the most severely. Panic ensued as individuals in clans began to go missing. Dragons thought the shade had returned. Beastclans blamed dragons until even they couldn't deny dragons were just as endangered as they were. Raiders saw their chance to strike, only to be picked off by the things now hungry and lurking in the dark.

Society has collapsed. It's become commonplace for fellow survivors to ask each other one question: "Who were you before the Skyshroud came?"

No one knows for certain what the skyshroud is, but the most common conclusion survivors have come to is that the shade has returned, and it’s actively attacking the dragon gods and weakening the elements they govern. The darkness initially sparked riots and raids, panic consuming society as another, lesser-seen threat saw opportunity in the sudden weakness of their adversaries.

The Hivemind, insectoid dragon-like beings that function as one coordinated organism in hundreds of thousands of bodies, have made their move at realizing their ultimate goal - the assimilation of dragonkind. Under the cover of 24/7 darkness, they are a terrifying force, unseen, calculated, and quick, navigating even urban areas with ease. False dragons are currently the largest threat, as one could find the warmth of those they’d once trusted had been replaced with cold, robotic violence overnight.
