"It's not my job to get you acquitted, it's my job to get you convicted. But let us see how the scale balances. And know that I'd hate to get you locked up for something you didn't do, alright?"
One of the prosecutors of Solstice, he sits near the judge for all outsider trials, and is responsible for proving the suspect's guilt. Despite being in such a role, he does not dislike Esfera, whose job is to prove that same suspect innocent. Their professions are oftentimes stressful, and tear them apart due to the conflicting morality that most cases find themselves in. He does not enjoy pressing the innocent, but since he lacks the truth-seeing ability of the judge and goddess, he can only preform his duty with the least reluctance in his mind. And perhaps, it is the thrill of argumentation and the anticipation of seeing the outcome that drives him to continue his career. Though, even if you know what Almas is truly like, it will not help you if he is staring you down in Solstice's courtroom, his steely voice and unwaveringly brutal questions will not ever change. It will feel as if though you are plummeting into an inescapable ocean, and you may as well be. |

Name: Kaz

Charges: High Treason, Murder, Incitement.
Verdict: Guilty
Sentence: 1,900 years in the Fortress of Ends, eligible for parole after 1,000.
On the 2nd day of the fifth week of the month of Light, Genesis met with this Skydancer, by the name of Kaz. It was a diplomatic visit in which Kaz came to Solstice's grounds. According to the testimony of the head ambassador herself, she felt something wrong almost immediately, but held out until dusk to send word to Lebirantio.
Kaz was detained the same night and a notice was sent to his clan. The charges pressed have been listed above. Background information gathered by Storia was scant, which forced Lebirantio to try more drastic measures, which the judge does not speak of. Subpoenas were sent to Kaz's clan, addressed to dragons thought to have connections to the suspect.
The primary charge is high treason against one's clan. It seems that at an unspecified time in the past, two clans, the Cathedral and Shal'anir; had a battle with one another. The conflict was initiated by the Cathedral. At this point, it is believed Kaz was a close advisor to the clan's leader. And shortly after the conflict began, Kaz turned his allegiances against the Cathedral and murdered the leader of the Cathedral, which brings us to our second charge.
It took an incredible amount of investigation, but recovered records from the Cathedral show that Kaz was also responsible for the incitement of several, more minor crimes. They seem to be a result of the preaching that he spread while working under the Cathedral.
Trial commenced swiftly, on the fourth day of the second week of Lightning. All exhibits, transcripts, and evidence have been attached with this report.
I deeply pitied Esfera on the day of this trial. For someone known as hope, he had no chance of winning. Not when one stands before Lebirantio, one who can only be swayed by the truth. I will say, however, Kaz is a force to be reckoned with on the stand, it took all my will to not call for recess so I could prepare a few fire spells...
He is shrewd. He sees through what I am getting at. If it weren't for the fact that we all knew he was as guilty as could be, he would have made a fine attorney of his own. Most definitely my equal in the way of language. It is deeply unfortunate that such gifts go to waste. But in the end, Lebirantio swings the gavel and declares guilt. Sornieth won't have to deal with this one for a long time now. In my personal opinion, he deserved worse.

Trial Notes
- This individual must be treated with caution. I must have the jury sequestered, for I fear the effects his words could have on them.
- It is very clear he intends to take the stand himself. Almost too obvious.
- I am prepared, but his presence brings me unease.
- On the direct examination... He sways perfectly to the tune of Esfera's questioning. Truly a perfect duo. A wonderful gift, one that even I wish I possessed.
- He deflects the unfavorable, and highlights his 'innocence'. It would be sickeningly effective, if it were not for the fact that this occurs in Solstice.
- I must.. Take all measures necessary, and even those that aren't, when it comes time for the cross-examination.
