P E R S O N A L I T Y ______Zaphix is a soul of mystery, warmth and benevolence. A literaly guardian angel who very few know, who very few see. He isn't named often, but you may sometimes here prayers and praise towards the angel. He watches over the ever shifting land, over the citizens of the clan, over the hatchlings and over the sick and dying. He helps them pass, he embraces new life, he watches over all that is known and loved. He blessed the crops, he brings light in the time of dark. He will not abandon any soul in the clan. ______Dragons often speak of Zaphix as a massive being, one which could match a deity. His size enormous, and heart too. He rarely speaks, but sometimes you may hear a word or two, see a protective eye watching from above. It is no laughing matter, Zaphix is the clan's guardian angel, and that is it.

There was a storm. That night all the lights in the lair went out, every shop closed and every dragon inside. The wind howled through cracks in the windows, and rain pelted against the glass so hard it could shatter any moment.

Mint was watching the storm from start to finish, and it didn't seem like it was going to settle any moment. The hatchlings in the protective cover of their tail shivering, cowering in the many layers of fur that even then couldn't deliver enough heat. Wob, the leader of the pack was pacing back and forth, waiting for a report, for anything, until Crow finally returned from his scouting travels.

Returned is a soft word, himself and the rest of the warriors practically crashed through the doors of the bamboo palace with wooden chips and mud flying in afterwards. Crow stood vigilantly, though clearly shaken by what he saw. When Wob approached with haste, he could see the many injuries the young warriors sustained. "We must leave immediately. The storm is approaching fast and lest we do not run-" Wob cut him off immediately with a snarl and a dangerous glare, "There will be no such thing happening! We stay here! This is our HOME. And home we will not abandon." The mirror growled but was cut off short with windows shattering. Now exposed to the winds inside, it didn't take long before the entire roof and chunks of wooden walls were ripped off the foundation. The palace was in ruin and exposed to the elements. Panic between the clan members broke out immediately.

"Look out!" A loud cry sounded towards Mint, and in that moment, in sheer panic and loss of words, the Gaoler saw what one could say was their life flashing before their eyes. A large tree, three feet wide with roots attached, branches bare and broken, hurtling towards the remains of their shelter. Out of the corner of their eye Mint could see Crow springing to action, but it felt like it was too late, like everything played in slow motion. Their tail curled tighter against the hatchlings, and in that moment they accepted their faith. They faced the storm, looked it right in the eye, in the very center of the spiraling cascade of clouds where not even Windsinger himself would dare approach.

The tree approached, wind howled, and with their last breath Mint mouthed the words they were so used to saying all night "Zaphix the great, please don't abandon us now."

Like a magic spell, a string of a few magical words, the wind stopped. The the rain ceased, and the skies turned pink and blue, a beautiful gradient one would see in perhaps heaven. The tree, the object of destruction and their caller of death, crashed into a force unknown. Its trunk split in half like a twig, flying to the sides with the wind, away from the hiding dragons. In that moment Mint could see, Mint could truly open their eyes and see the one wonder in all of Sorneith they have prayed to for so long.

A dragon. A dragon so large his hands could pick the house within his gentle claws and fly far away. Glimmering gems stretched from his scales, like tridents and pillars, beautiful formations that reflected the storms beauty. Shimmering and glowing, his scales matched the growths. Pink fur, freely flowing with the harsh winds as if they were gentle, like this was a simple breeze. Though most of all, the tips of his wings and creases between his scales seemed to flow, almost drip with pure energy. Metallic colours of purple, blue, pink, shifting and changing, as if it was liquid itself, never quite the same pattern. His wings hovered over them all, protecting them from the harsh elements of the storm, casting an aura so warm and inviting Mint could rest forever in them. Until their eyes met.

Two large glistening blue orbs, his smile entrancing. "You have called upon me, Mint, now I call upon you. Please take thy clan a place safe. Far away from here. There is a woods of cold and dark, but with fauna so bright and strong is protects its residents. You will be safe there. Travel there, and I will bless your clan."

With a blink, the dragon was gone, the crystal vanished and the warmth turned cold once again. Mint sprung to their feet as every dragon recovered from the blow of the tree, which now lay to the sides of the ruins. "Wob, we must leave now." The mirror turned harshly to the Gaoler, stunned from the missed attack. "And where would we go?" Mint nodded toward and faced north east, determination in their eyes. "The tangled woods."
