"You need my assistance? But I—...Well, alright. What can I help you with?"
The once bright-eyed magician who sought after something much bigger than herself. As the clan's leading mage and healer, she does her best to use her powers as they were originally intended for. Like many of the earliest members of the Cirrina clan, Duvessa came from small beginnings. Without much recollection of her yearling days in the Crystalspine Reaches, what the Spiral could remember was the captivation that she felt towards the dancing lights beyond the horizon of the Southern Icefields, and, that's where her little wings eventually brought her. However, the new landscape did not bring good tidings in return. Although having achieved her dream of studying the ambient lights so closely, the inexperienced Spiral could have never prepared for the Icefield's harsh conditions, and Duvessa was nearly lost to the snow. The last thing Duvessa remembered was being uncovered by a black, fluffy maw—and the rest was history. Duvessa was rescued by Cirrina's matriarch, and after being nursed back to health it wasn't long until Duvessa was adopted into the clan, much like the other hatchlings who had been only days before her. With her new siblings and family, the Spiral flourished. As Duvessa grew, so did her magic. When ties began to strengthen with those in the Windswept Plateau, Duvessa caught word of the powerful Arcane artist who resided there—a master called Magnus. With approval from both clans, the nascent Spiral wanted nothing more than to study under him in order to understand her blooming magic, and almost as importantly, herself. But, not all knowledge is so easy to gain. Magnus refused her as a student right away. As a result, Duvessa devoted herself to his teachings in order to one day gain his recognition, absorbing every word of guidance that he would take the time to offer her. Duvessa became more solemn in her quest for knowledge, but she never dreamed that her path would lead her to Dinson. In contrast to the serious and ever studious Spiral, the rambunctious Mirror took an interest in her friendship. The Mirror's efforts seemed futile due to their clashing differences, but soon enough they began to compliment each other more than they thought. Eventually, Dinson managed to pull Duvessa away from her studies and took her to the skies, while Duvessa offered Dinson peace and kept him grounded. Their relationship only grew from there. It was no secret that Dinson had feelings for her, he would claim it to all of Sorneith if he could, but Duvessa was a different story. Although Duvessa held her own feelings for the spirited Mirror deep down, she had to refuse them. She had to refuse him. She could not break the rules of her mentor, she could not risk the opportunity she had worked so hard to obtain. However, the feelings shared between the pair claimed her heart. The Spiral's attention to her studies were becoming shorter, and it was becoming even harder to resist the Mirror's presence. So after a leap of faith, and acceptance, the pair sneaked away into the night all the way back to her homestead, and out from under Magnus' watchful eye. There, of all places, inhibitions melted away and the star-crossed lovers were finally able to lay with one another. From then on that's where most of their encounter's took place, under the same night sky she once became so enamored with. Unfortunately, their love ended before it could even begin. Dinson's disappearance seemed like it happened in a flash. Without closure of her beloved's fate, grief struck the Spiral's core, and consequently, affected her magic. A grim darkness cast over the Cirrina clan, causing complete turmoil amongst its members. This influence involved the loss of some, and unspeakable relations with others, herself included. The clan struggled immensely for what seemed like ages after that. When the clan began to finally show signs of getting back on its feet, Duvessa vowed that she would never to lose control of herself again. Nowadays, Duvessa lives her life in solitude within the clan. She can be found helping others when her abilities are sought after, as well as mostly in the Coliseum in order to make sure fellow members return home safely and soundly. At night, she studies the cosmos with deep regret and heartache, hoping that her actions will one day atone for what she had done to her precious clan. In recent events, however, the weary Spiral never thought she would be met with something so unprecedented. The clan's prosperity as well the revival of their greatest ally—the Nerada clan—has led to an ongoing celebration and exchanging of gifts with each other, hatchlings included. If she didn't know better, Duvessa swears one of them has somehow found their way to her side... What in the world?
