Rothaz was one of Rowan's many guardians, a remnant of a time when the world was at war. He, along with his packmates, were giant wolves whose sole duty was to protect their master.
Rothaz continued to live in The Eternal Garden.
When it came to exploring what had become of the outside world, Mink had been chosen as Rowan's advisor, but Rothaz had been chosen to act as his guardian alongside Cressalia. He was familiar with young Mink, who was loud and hard to miss, but he did not know Cressalia even though the two of them had been living in Rowan's garden the longest.
Rothaz has always taken his job as Rowan's guardian very seriously, which can make him come off a little corporate and cold.
Rothaz is not blessed in the same way a human or beastkin might be. He was gifted with the ability to communicate with humans and, with enough meditation, become one. Since mastering his shapeshifting, he has scarcely been seen as his true dire wolf form.
