Honeydew is an ancient, wise Gaurdian whose charge is the institution she has created. As a young dragon in the Nature Flight, she yearned for greater knowledge and understanding of other flights, and upon the loss of the clan's first home and the burning of her many books, she decided to found a permanent institution in a less flammable flight. She gathers representatives from every flight to The College in order to create an environment of cooperative learning and understanding. She ensures that every member of the clan is able to deepen their knowledge in their own field of study while gaining breadth and perspective through inter-flight communal discussions and seminars.

Honeydew determined that in order to broaden the clan's perspective, all offspring of The College have the opportunity to study abroad before returning to The College to either continue their studies or move on to serve the Lightweaver as academics and scribes. Thus The College contributes to the great intellectual strivings of the Light Flight.
