S T O R Y
Some say the very shadows whisper rumors and happenings from afar into the Shadowbinder's ears, bringing news from lands the great deity did not walk. They're almost right. A small sect of dragons travel far and wide and settle themselves in distant clans, welcomed because of their pretty scales and alluring demeanor. They begin learning and absorbing the knowledge and plans from the unknowing dragons around them, before sending on the knowledge through coded scrolls messaged directly to the Forum of the Obscured Crescent. They are the true Shadowbinder's eyes and ears. They are the spies of the Shadowbinder. Geier was born under the Stormcatcher's reign, and as such is hard-working and persevering. She became enamored with the idea of the Tangled Woods, of hidden things and secrets to be discovered. She may have been only young, but she had such determination, none could stop her. And so she left for the woods and shadows, leaving the factories and storms behind her. She quickly became lost in the Woods. She began following wisps, anything that might bring her somewhere. And so one day she stumbled across the Shadowbinder's Spies. She was only two weeks old, and her fervent devotion was evident to those that met her. To test her, they locked her away in darkness, where she remained devoid of light of any kind for two days. The Spies then released her, expecting her to have changed her views on the darkness, and wish to return home. Instead, they found her loyalty had not waned. She trained alongside the other young dragons of the organisation, and quickly progressed through the ranks. Along the way, she befriended a young imperial named Corvus, and got to know him well. But she was soon sent off to a clan in the Shifting Sands, where she stayed for many months. They never suspected her, and she grew to get along with the other fiercely ambitious and loyal lightning dragons. But she soon returned to the Tangled Woods, and the clan said their farewells with sorrow in their voices. Once back, she found Corvus horribly injured, and her lightning efficiency took over as she cared for him. When it was realized that he would never truly recover, Geier plopped herself down and refused to move from his side. The two have lived as a pair ever since. |
