Shogoki
Job: Ship Captain

"If I did not approve of you being on my ship, you would not be standing there in one piece."

A ferocious leader at first, second, and further glances, Shogoki, the Captain of the great Lightning airship the Morghulis, contrasts quite sharply with her co-leader Aymeric's softer, more thoughtful personality. Shogoki is a Mirror dragon through and through--while she is only truly satisfied when surrounded by a pack (of any dragons, really), she will brook no nonsense and is perfectly willing to put down any upstart rebellions with her teeth and claws, and no insignificant amount of brute-force Lightning magic.

(She doesn't need to be a mage, after all. She just needs to put enough extra oomph behind her strikes that even the Emperor typically lounging around on the top deck won't casually cross her.)

As for where the ship came from...she's surprisingly open about it. (And no, it has little to do with her semi-robotic appearance--that was just something she did to herself over the years to augment herself.) As Shogoki tells it, the Morghulis was simply a prototype for the Lightning Flight's grand reactor, and when she learned what that prototype was the testing grounds for, she ran off with not just the Arcane reactors but the whole ship. (She would not be party to "fools who chase not just their own deaths but the deaths of those around them", as far as she was concerned.) And she convinced a handful of their top engineers to run away with her, too, a thing she is rather proud of, even if it means that she's made a few extra enemies in the Lightning Flight in the process.

(But what's a few more when she already earned the ire of some of the Lightning Flight's leaders?)

Her in-depth knowledge of "her" ship meant she was a perfect fit as Captain, and as her clan grew around her, very few were willing to actively challenge her for the position. Aymeric's position as co-leader, in fact, was her decision; she was quite aware that between the ship and the large size of the clan, she was getting stretched too thin, and Aymeric was simply the best choice to handle the day-to-day grind of mediating and maintaining the social structure of the pack...without making her concerned about someone grabbing power behind her back.

(She believes him far too noble for that underhandedness. Even if some of the other advisers certainly wouldn't be. But that is why they are merely advisers, and not leaders.)

But even if Aymeric is the average clan member's first choice of dragon to speak to in case of trouble, Shogoki's surprising cleverness mixed with straightforwardness makes her an excellent Captain, in the clan's eyes, for a ship and a clan constantly on the move...and constantly on-guard for Lightning flight pursuit. As invaluable as her co-leader is, Shogoki is the keystone of the clan, and everyone knows it. Including her.
