Xinnath believes herself incredibly lucky. There are many dragons in Sornieth who do not have a safe home, a loving family, and the chance to be completely free, but she has all of these things in spades. The Windswept Plateau has been incredibly kind to her in so many ways, far kinder than the Scarred Wasteland she was born to ever was, and she loves it dearly. It is a vibrant land, filled with excitement and kindness that Xinnath lacked in her royal Imperial roots. The only thing she holds nearer to her heart than the Windsinger's incredible domain is her love for Opal, her darling mate.
She calls Opal the light of her life with all the affection in the world, and Opal does the same for her. It brings Xinnath boundless comfort to know she can rely on Opal, since her bipolar disorder can be difficult and unpredictable at times.She is at her core a shy and compassionate dragon, but sometimes, her manic episodes draw her too far from her shell for comfort and make her easily irritated, while the depressive spells have a crushing, relentless weight at times, a weight terribly hard to shake. Opal has remained through it all, though, a constant, comforting presence. She cannot always ease Xinnath's frustration, but she does offer her support in any way possible, and that is a great gift, one Xinnath will treasure all her life. |
