Absi

This little guy was found abandoned in an old laboratory amongst a pile of failed experiments. He was luckily found by a caring female dragon who wanted to adopt a baby. She saw his egg, sitting there amongst the wreckage and thought to herself, “there could be a hatchling in there.” She started to panic, realising she did NOT know how to take care of a hatchling. She scooped up the little shadow egg, and felt it move in her claws. She nearly dropped it as a large crack formed on the shell. She quickly packed up her stuff and grabbed the egg, carefully, for she now knew there was a hatchling inside. She clutched it close to her chest and took off into the night sky. She flapped her wings as fast as she could to get back to the safety of her lair and back to get help for the egg. She was so distracted in her thoughts she did not see or hear the dragon sneaking up behind her. She finally snapped out of her thoughts as she realised she heard another set of wingbeats, close behind her. She turned around, but not before carefully placing her precious cargo into her satchel. She gently lowered it onto a nearby rock outcropping so the egg inside wouldn't get damaged in the possible upcoming fight. As she was doing this, she could feel the eyes of her stalker on her back, watching her every move. She swiftly flew back to her stalker and tried to stay calm, even though she was absolutely terrified.
“What do you want?” she growled.
“Oh not much, except for that egg.” He sneered. He flew towards the outcropping, but was stopped by the dragon egg’s new mother.
“I’m afraid you can’t have that buddy.” She smacked him upside the head with her foot and sent him stagger-flying away. “Glad that jerk left.” She carefully retrieved the egg and took back off into the sky, now wary of the fact that some dragon could be following her. She flew home as quickly as she could.
