Biography
5 on mother's, Djinn
Selene had never wanted another life.
The Sunbeam Ruins were beautiful, and glorious, and the benevolent gaze of the Lightweaver made everything safe and perfect. Who would ever want to go anywhere else?
--
The first nest was beautiful. Soft and gentle little hatchlings, peeping up at her with bright, Light-blessed eyes. She cooed to them, and loved them, and when they were taken for the Lightweaver's glorious entorage, she was assured. "There will be more. The Lightweaver will provide."
--
The second nest was strong, brilliant hatchlings chirping at her from their bed. She whispered to them, and held them close, and when they were taken from her arms by the temple guardians, she was assured. "There will be more. Your sacrifice will be remembered."
--
The third nest was quiet, and she huddled close to them, their newborn eyes curiously wondering. She hid them, and secreted away, and when they found her and took her darlings, tore them from her as she cried, she was assured. "There will be more. There will always be more."
--
Selene wanted nothing but a new life.
The Sunbeam Ruins was light, and cold, and the chilling gaze of the Lightweaver kept the land in check. How could one ever escape?
