Brencen

Brencen ("Sen") was very young when he was bitten by a Moonbeast. At first, he believed the transformation he underwent was a gift. He viewed with a childlike innocence.

Then he killed someone.

It was not a special night. It was nearly a half-moon, a time where he should have had plenty of control. She was a young fae, part of a roaming flight of fae that had sought refuge in Sen's home village. She had been out flying under the stars when Sen plucked her from the skies.

The next morning, her body was found, and all the blame was directed at Sen. The fae called for his death in retribution for such a brutal murder. Terrified, Sen ran.

For so many years, he travelled from town to town, taking every precaution to keep the dragons around him safe. He never spent a full moon in civilization, and would never let himself get close to anyone. His visit to a nameless southern port city should have been just another stop on his endless journey.

Then, a young dragon named Coyote professed her love for him. And his world was turned upside-down.

He had thought of himself as unlovable for so many years, believing he was evil and hideous. But Coyote viewed his flaws with such a beautiful innocence, like he had so many years ago. It gave him hope. Everything he hated about himself, she adored. Even if he didn't love her as much as she loved him, he needed her unlike he had ever needed anyone before. And when he had to leave, she was willing to follow.

They travelled north, to the tiny village of Greensburrow, where they settled. He stayed in their den in the woods while Coyote, and her loyal follower Newt, interacted with the townspeople. He was not bothered by his isolation, or that his mate was starting a gang. He was happy.

He found his home.

Official Moonbeast: Direwolf Coloration Moon at Birth: Waning Crescent Similar to werewolves, Moonbeasts are influenced by the moon. However, there are major differences. All have a permanent beast-like appearance and by night they “lose control” becoming primal, savage, bloodthirsty, and destructive. The degree to which they lose control depends on the phase of the moon. Physical features such as claws, fangs, and muscular build might become exaggerated and more pronounced as the moon phase progresses towards Full. Some Moonbeasts have worked so hard to discipline themselves that they only lose complete control on nights of a Full Moon.
