Mono

If nothing else, Mono can be described as level-headed and rational, whether or not this is a positive depends on the individual being spoken to. Disregarding any criticism, Mono is fiercely proud of her past decisions and largely attributes any opposition to her rule to irrationality.

Her past is somewhat of a mystery to the public and that is of utmost priority to the dragon who still finds shame in the fact that she hatched as an abandoned egg. Mono spent the entirety of her juvenile years alone, scrapping by and doing whatever needed to be done to ensure survival. Due to this and against the stereotype held to most Shadow dragons, Mono does not make time in her daily schedule for any sort of frivolity or trickery, much preferring to further the clan's and her own prosperity. It is extremely rarely that the Monarch speaks of this period of her life, only occasionally making a vague reference to those closest to her. It seems that only one dragon is completely aware of Mono's timeline: Cyndro.

Mono met Cyndro at a more stable time in her life, yet still lacking the security most dragons reaped from being part of a clan. Coincidentally, Cyndro himself was a young dragon in the process of founding a clan. Recognizing this opportunity as what it was, an incredible occasion to not only guarantee herself a safe home but power as well, the dragon jumped at the chance to associate herself with the newly developing clan. After struggling to support herself her entire life, Mono was ready and willing to do anything to rescue herself from a lifetime of scavenging other's leftovers. This, somewhat controversially, included becoming Cyndro's mate only to eventually usurp power of the clan.
