Biography

Grandeur didn't care about lineage. Who cares where your roots are? She would always snarl, My roots are where I stand. She was a traveller, she did what she pleased when she pleased; she had no home and she was fine with that, she was a scavenger, who needs to buy food when you can find it? She would always say. She made other dragons uneasy, so she stayed away from clans, only occasionally popping into one if the winter was particularly harsh, yet she always remained unseen. Most of Sornieth knew of her, even if they didn't know who she was or how they knew. She became an urban legend, a story to scare young hatchlings into staying away from the treacherous wilds she dwelt within.

As time wore on Grandeur began to yearn for permanence, for comradery, and routine. She had no idea how she could gain these things, she doubted any normal clan would accept her, as her personality was like sandpaper. She grew unhappy with her old life, wishing she knew of a place that would take her in. She waited for a while listening to the trails that sliced throughout Sornieth that allowed nomads to pass from place to place. From a portly Pearlcatcher she heard a rumor of a clan that would take anyone in who did not fit anywhere.

She took off, tearing across Sornieth from The Ashfall Wastes to Viridian Labyrinth in record time. She was exhausted and ill by the time she tumbled to the field in that gigantic forest, but she had made it. She limped across the grass to meet the Imperial that strolled towards her from the woods.

"Welcome to clan Field Well," The Imperial purred, "I am Oboro, leader of this clan, do you wish to join?" Grandeur told her yes, in her curt raspy voice which offended everyone she spoke to. But Oboro was different, she had created this clan specifically for dragons who didn't mesh well with others. "Come this way Odd One," Oboro murmured, "I cleared out a few dens last night, you are home now~"

Grandeur followed Oboro into the forest, down a path that was made of large stepping stones. She didn't see where the dens were in the dense foliage and trees, but she felt eyes burning her flanks. They arrived at a den covered in moss and grass with a large willow growing out of the side, its roots exposed, the very ends dipping into the small pond a few feet away. On the other side of the pond there was a Bogsneak staring into the water's depths. She caught Grandeur's eye and waved her claws in greeting, a sly and mischievous grin spayed across her face. Oboro told her that was SanguineRose, her new neighbor. With a gentle smile Oboro told Grandeur where to go if she ever needed to contact her, and just like that Oboro disappeared into the woods.

Grandeur wheeled around, ready to take a step towards her new den, just in time to smack into SanguineRose full force and fall back onto the ground, she shook her head, which already had a splitting migraine. The Bogsneak stayed put, that disturbing grin on her face, "Heya," She hissed in a voice that sounded like scraping glass. Grandeur greeted the Bogsneak suspiciously, slowly standing, SanguineRose merely stared at her, grinning still. Grandeur, upset and only able to read slight amusement from the Bogsneak, now demanded loudly what this strange reptile wanted, "Do you want to join me and my mate, Radgar, for a chat tonight in my den?"

Suspiciously and reluctantly Grandeur rasped that she would join them that night. After that night Grandeur and the two Bogsneaks became the closest of friends, never would one of them be too far apart from the other two for long.
