Biography

he had his lore in 2014, you straight up cannot judge me for this.

Poor Belial, this unfortunate dragon has gotten himself tied into the core of this clan and the many problems it has experienced.

He originally left his clan, a guardian fueled by rebellion and spite, to find a new home with a dragon who's name has been lost to the wind.

The pair followed a lead, finding themselves in a far area of plague territories. The area they found housed the beginnings of a cave system, and the pair began to further hollow out their new home.

Time passed, and the pair had grown into a large number of dragons. The cave bustled with life and... Fungi.

An odd, unknown species of fungus, unknown to the scholars of the clan, had made its home in the caves as well. The odd, tan bodies of the mushrooms only seemed to grow in the deepest parts of the cave, near where Belial made his nest. No special measures were taken to control the fungus- Perhaps they would be a reliable food source for the dragons.

This proved to be a mistake. When the fruiting-bodies of the mushrooms released their spores, Belial accidentally inhaled some. Nothing happened for a while, but.... Soon enough, an odd growth began to sprout from the dragon's back. It seemed harmless at first, but it quickly proved otherwise. The infected dragon became aggressive and unpredictable, lashing out at clanmates and refusing to eat.

The infected dragon was locked away to prevent the infection from spreading. Scholars from the outside along with the ones from the clan took shifts trying to concoct a cure for the odd infection. Unfortunately, no progress was made after many long months on the scholars' part.

Many years passed with no improvement to his condition, and the clan grew desperate. The scholars suggested a move to the chilled expanses of the Ice territories to kill the strains that had infected Belial. There was unrest and discord in the clan at the thought. What is the move killed not only the parasite, but the host as well?

Still, after much debate, it was decided that the clan would move. A new den was constructed ahead of time, and then the trek began. Unfortunately, a number of dragons decided the trouble wasn't worth it, and split ways with the clan, drastically reducing their numbers.

Thankfully, many moons showed the move to be the correct option. Belial's condition began to clear and soon he was cured. No trace of the infection remained.

The terrifying experience left him changed, possibly for the better. He became kinder, more patient, but also more... Cautious. Aside from the changes in his personality, the Guardian found himself with strange new markings covering his scales.

An era of peace and calmness fell over the clan. With Belial as their protector, no threats from outside enemies had come to light. Perhaps it was time to move again? The expanses of the Ice territories wasn't exactly ideal for a growing clan, after all.

The clan began to save resources to move to the Nature territories, and with the growing wealth, Belial seemed to change once more.

His form became larger, more... Feral in appearance, though his temperament remained the same. His current appearance is similar to the written descriptions of the ancestors.

Curious.

Another transformation out of the way, the clan made their way to their new home, Belial's new form allowing him to protect the traveling dragons better than before. No creature wants to mess with an ancient beast, after all.

With the move came new life as the clan thrived in their new lush, green home.
