From her early ages to adulthood, Medusa had always had a violent streak. It started off as roughhousing. She'd injure both hatchlings and adults when she 'played' with them. Her clan would try and teach her how to play nicely but the bogsneak never grasped the concept.

She wasn't a mean dragon by any means, she just didn't play nice. When other hatchlings stopped playing with her, Medusa tried to find other things to play with. She wrestled with familiars and even plushies but the problem was, the outcome was always messy.

The Earth clan tried to steer her towards exploration and taught her much about anything she brought back but it didn't release the energy and tension that built up in the bogsneak. They sent her further and further each time to see if it would expel her energy and the darkness that they considered evident. Her boredom saw her coming back later and later as she tried to find things to fight. At the water's edge she was lucky enough to come across a younger dragon and she antagonized a fight except the bogsneak took things to far and fatally wounded the dragon.

It had been witnessed by a pirate flying overhead and when Medusa begged them to help, the pirate encouraged her to kill the dragon. When she started to refuse, the pirate, Tendon, threatened her with both of their lives.

Killing the dragon woke something up in Medusa and when Tendon brought her back to the ship,
she stayed aboard. She could take just as much of a beating as she delivered though because of her urge to fight but learned to quell her lust until the proper time both at the auction house and whenever they pillaged clans. She wasn't a great fighter, she just delighted in extending the torture and delivered injuries that made dragons suffer in the long run.
