aaaIt was another one of Lucid's spells gone wrong. In an attempt to push his reality-bending limits, he had decided to try and bend space and time as well. On a rare clear night, he scaled one of the tallest mesas in the Shifting Expanse. Here, Lucid started his incantation.
aaaIt was going smoothly at first, time slowed slightly and the void of space began to shift to his will, but soon a problem became apparent.
aaaThe stars would not move.
aaaConcentrating harder, Lucid tried again. The darkness swirled vigorously, but the stars remained still, seemingly unfazed by the imperial's magic. Frustrated, Lucid tried a third time, this time using every ounce of power he could possible muster. Time slowed to a standstill. The shadows of the night writhed angrily. Pieces of the sky began to melt and drip down from above, first darkness, then stars as well, pooling into a puddle on the opposite side of the mesa. From the puddle rose a skydancer, stars dancing across her wings as she flexed them.
aaaHer voice echoed as she spoke, "My children will not obey your magic. They reside where I place them." With a flick of her tail, the stars began to rearrange themselves into crescent shapes that stretched as far as the eye could see.
"They are loyal to me, for I am Twilight, Queen of the Constellations."

Twilight's Star Facts
  • The stars are not Twilight's servants. She considers them to be her children and loves each and every one of them.
  • Each star has an aura, the star equivalent of a personality. They prefer to be placed in constellations that fit their aura.
  • The happier a star is, the brighter it glows. Dull stars are usually very troubled or upset.
  • If a star becomes neglected or forgotten, the star can fade away completely. Twilight has only ever had one star fade. She would do anything to get it back.
  • Becoming a shooting star is the highest
    honor a star can receive.
  • During the day, the stars are very playful. They especially love to play pranks on the Sun (even though Twilight tells them to leave the poor sun alone).
Biography
aaaTwilight loves observing the dragons of Sornieth from her perch in the night sky. She enjoys watching them interact with each other: trading items, passing down their skills, telling stories of their travels. She often takes her favorite stories and represents them as constellations. Every constellation has a story to go with it, some of them older than the deities and the Shade. Twilight knows every single one, and she is always willing to share them with anyone patient enough to listen.

aaaWhile she rarely appears for dragons, Twilight has a soft spot for hatchlings. In the cover of night, she sneaks from clan to clan, seeking out hatchlings who are distressed, especially those scared of the dark. She comforts them, telling them stories of great leaders from long ago or pulling stars from the sky for them to play with.
