New Water rep, a weedy little fellow:
Waveleth was a foundling. None knew who his parents were, or why they left him, abandoned in a remote area of the Tsunami Flats. The hatchling, with no guidance, struggled to feed himself on the unappetizing sea creatures that were all he could catch, until he ran out of energy and curled up in despair. However, as fate would have it, another dragon appeared that day, enjoying the warm sunshine and cool offshore breezes. A lone Skydancer, relaxing and exploring, reached for a pretty rounded stone, and nearly tripped over his limp and sodden form. She literally took him under her wing and flew him to shore, where she fed him tiny bits from the packet of dried insects she carried, and for the first time in his life, he dried off. “What is your name, little one?” she asked when he had had some time to revive. But he just shook his head. He didn’t know! She decided to call him Peridot, for his coloring. “I almost thought you were a real one!” she chuckled. And so he went home to her clan, and learned what a Fae needed to know, and more.

He learned what it meant to be a Water dragon. He took readily to the rituals required for divination, and was proud to receive his first revelation from the Tidelord. He settled into his role, and found a mate, a sweet and sparkling Snapper miss, whom his adoptive mother thought fittingly resembled a shiny crystal. They hatched five babies... but sadly, two of them succumbed to a mysterious illness before they’d even been named. He’d hoped to know more of their personalities first, and then it was too late. Not surprisingly, he doted on the other three.

Until he came home one day to find his home wiped out by a tsunami no-one had forecast. Everything was gone, including the family he loved. He searched for days, but found nothing to support his hope they might have survived, being at home in the water. He was bereft, alone again, and feeling it was somehow his fault. He should have been able to predict the pending danger! Disheartened and discouraged, he stopped eating, ready to die as he had not been ready as a child. But then it was he had a vision, and he finally shook himself out of the lethargy that had taken hold of him, and headed south, where he was welcomed at WindSky Weyr. It wasn't long before he was ready to see Nameleth, leaving one part of his past behind and embracing his new life.

He has not taken another mate, but perhaps one day he might again.
